I really hope they don't go the dual Peter/Miles route like it's being speculated. I'm a Miles fanatic too

 

The only way I'll accept this is if Peter dies in this film.

Miles doesn't deserve to be an also-ran "black friend" side character. People who want him in this film alongside Peter don't seem to understand what makes the character so special. Spoiler alert: It's not quota. Now that they've committed to another young Peter story, there really isn't room for Miles here (though, again, there is for Prowler or for Silk or for a lot of other characters).

If Sony wants to finally give us Miles, they have an animated film that'd be perfect for him in so many different ways.

 

Otto Octavius is pretty much Gilfoyle anyway...

 

Bokeem Woodhime is also playing a villain now. Geez.

I guess this could be the Black Widow film everyone wants.

Sony Reportedly Still Planning Spider-Man Universe Silver Sable Movie

 

It was never previously confirmed what that film was gonna be, but I think my prominent theory was always Silver Sable when a lot of people were speculating a "Spider-[female]" character, so I like this inner vindication, lol.

A Silver Sable film in place of a Black Widow film would suck, but I'd still be down for Silver Sable. She's not the coolest character I know, but she has so much built in potential for a great high-octane global action film. I don't know how a film like that would go, but I'd sure see it.

 

Dunno how I feel about them continuing the Spider-Man universe plan...

 

Fortunately, Marvel would be in charge.


Since you teamed with Marvel, do you plan to make a whole Spider-Man universe? Do you have plans for more work with Marvel?
Yes to both those questions. It’s been fantastic, our relationship with Marvel.

Who has greenlight authority?
Sony has the ultimate authority. But we have deferred the creative lead to Marvel, because they know what they’re doing. We start shooting the new Spider-Man in Atlanta [in mid-June].

It would be kinda crazy if they introduced all of the Spider-verse characters in one go. Hint at Silk or something.

I read "Michelle" is the name shes using because she doesn't like her real name.....my money is she's totally Mary-Jane.

 

Angourie Rice from The Nice Guys will be in this. That's very good news.

 

Not that it was really questioned, but, apparently, the footage at Comic Con revealed The Vulture.

 

Teaser footage summary:

Set to Joan Jett's Bad Reputation, we see yearbook photos of all the MCU, using actual images from the actors. There's tons of great jokes. Black Widow's yearbook is in Russian. Cap's is from the 40's

It's cut like a trailer, going through Peter Parker's schedule. He's in science class watching video from the Civil War airport fight instead of paying attention

In another class, he's secretly making web fluid in a desk without anyone seeing

In gym, girls are playing F, Marry Kill with the Avengers

"What about Spider-Man?" one asks

We see Zendaya's character make fun of Peter and a friend for oggling girls

At one point, Peter says he needs to leave a library discussion (Martin Starr looks to be the teacher)

"Where are you going?" Zendaya asks with a serious face. "What are you hiding?"

Lots of footage of Spidey on the back of a truck and hiding under a table by sticking to it

"Just kidding," says Zendaya. "I don't really care."

 

A toy panel at SDCC seemingly revealed the villains appearing in this to be Vulture, Tinkerer and Shocker.

 

I hope Shocker gets a good comedy angle.
