Off the top of my head there's CRJ, The Japanese House, MUNA, PINE, BOCC, Somos, Greet Death, Copeland, Laura Stevenson, Charly Bliss, Mannequin Pussy, Charli, Tove Lo, PVRIS, Counterparts, Origami Angel, Tegan and Sara, PUP, Georgia Maq, girl in red, Northlane, etc. Not everything here might make the cut on my list but it's all great and speaks to the strong year I think music was for me.

I don't agree with the #1 on this list and the inclusion of Blink with all the shit surrounding them. I don't know a lot of hip hop (send recs) so I can't speak to that but for a site that claims to be inclusive and critical of the scene it probably should take that into account when creating their lists.

 

exactly. That’s what’s embarrassing about it. Like we preach all year about accountability then put blink in the EOTY list?? Orrr we claim to be a place that’s critical of the power structures in music and society and then...include a white rapper who actively perpetuates the negative stereotypes associated with hip hop/black culture
