I am alive. I've been working a lot and I recently moved into a different building so I've been unpacking in my free time. They took Frasier off Netflix so that nearly ended me but I am making it thru this difficult time

There’s a lot of classist mockery, stereotypes and fat jokes. Nothing horribly offensive. It’s a childhood classic that I adore but yeah - I get why people unaccustomed to Dahl might get offended...even if some of the comments I’ve seen about it are a real stretch. A lot of Roald Dahl’s works aren’t technically politically correct anymore. Which is a crying shame because I worshipped his stories as a child.

The stereotype of the German family is one. The others are more controversial and don't know if I should post them. Also, saying I would expect it maybe to have some blind spots since it's so old.

 

They both got taken off. It was a big loss. Frasier’s still on Prime I think.

Oh yeah that’s definitely true. Especially if you read it with the original Oompa Loompas and everything, not good. I was just confused because I couldn’t tell if we were still talking about the OG movie or the book or what. Too many adaptations!
