In fairness, I've done that too. When I was dating someone and seeing quite a lot of them we both agreed not to try dating anyone else so that we could see how things went without distractions caused by other people. I guess it's pretty similar to that?

 

Yeah, I guess so. She basically asked me not to hook up with or date anyone else, and I was like "sure, that's not a problem". But I still don't say she's my girlfriend and she doesn't say that I'm her boyfriend, I don't think. It's just a weird situation, haha. Doesn't even really matter that much, I just don't know what to say when people ask

 

@Mr. Serotonin I know exactly what you mean. The situation isn't at all difficult to deal with, until someone asks who this person is and you go:

"She's my.....erm"
*Flaps hands about and looks pleadingly around in the hope someone moves the conversation on*

 

The distance thing sucks so far but like I've never been more sure of wanting to be with someone for as long as humanly possible so I'm actually feeling really good about it in some ways, like this is definitely going to last it's just gonna be hard

 

I don't even say she's my..... I just introduce her with her name. solves that. And if anyone ask and she's not around, it's usually "We're seeing each other" or some sort of that.

 

Definitely possible, I was in the same situation for the last few months before we ended it last week. It's that weird grey area where you don't want to be in a serious relationship but don't want to date anyone else either.

 

I ignored FWB for Ian, now Ian is going back to Scotland, and now I'm fucked..and not in a good way.

 

Me and my gf are moving in together tomorrow, can't wait

Distance doesn't affect me too much most of the time because I like my own space a lot, but I do wish I could be with my boyfriend today while he gets another tattoo ha.

 

LOL I'm in a similar boat with my two closest friends, although realistically speaking I'm probably the least likely to meet someone.

 

I officially have a month from tomorrow until Ian leaves. He took me to lunch and we went to the park and hung out on a blanket canoodling which I have never done in my life and actually enjoyed. I am like 2 rungs below full blown in love. I don't like this feeling but I can't help it. He makes me really happy and he's pretty close to everything I want in a partner. We went for a drive with the top down listening to Sigur Ros, Glassjaw, etc..

We're going to try long distance but I don't foresee it working. He just wants us to be honest with each other if we decide to have a sexual fling. I mean this is how life treats me 100% of the time. Find someone take him away lol I'll never be in a financial situation to visit. I've really put down roots here and I'm just gonna make the most out of the time we have left. He's coming over when he gets off work. I'll just wallow in my confused misery til he gets here.

 

Well...that sucks pretty bad.

 

So now everybody at the car dealership where I bought my car and where the girl I'm now dating works is apparently mad at me because I filled out the post-purchase survey like they asked but I rated them 8s and 9s out of 10 on most items and apparently they need 10s across the board. And apparently my good ratings brought down their overall score. Yesterday I was embarrassed and sorry about it, but now I'm just fucking annoyed

 

fuck them, you're not obligated to pad their score

 

I hate those surveys, I get them with every online purchase now "why did you rate 5 stars instead of 4 stars" because I literally can't think of a single thing I'd give five stars

 

Yes but since she works there I get to hear about it

 

I always do 10's across the board or 5 if that's what the scale goes too. I learned that when I waitressed that 8/9's were bad lol

 

Which is weird because the scale described 7 as "excellent" or something

 

Just when I think it's getting better, it gets worse. Then once I think it can't get any worse, it gets better again. I'm riding a true roller coaster right now and I can't be held accountable for my emotions (meaning I cry at basically the drop of a hat)

edit: lol this sounds like a post for the mental health thread. But I swear I'm talking about things with the ex.

And honestly I wish I had better advice. Skype. Text. Calls. Phone sex. That snapchat thing you kids talk about. Modern technology really does help.
