Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Spurs are miserable and I’m sad

  2. Mourinho is realizing how shit these players are right now. Poch realized it and it drove him out of the club. We need a massive overhaul. There are like 3-4 players I’d keep. The rest can go.

It’s mad how Lingard starts for us.

Arteta going full Wenger with that XI. United will counter us to death

Nah he’s undeniably horrible. Two chances in the first 5 minutes to do something and he fucks up both. Horrible player. If Ole has balls he’d take him off now.

ye are going to win 3 or 4 nil.

No subs. Top management. That’s what winners do.

The only shock was that Arsenal didn’t score more.

Shocked at how poor Arsenal were in the 2nd half and still Man Utd were worse.

To be fair the squad has enormous fitness issues from the Emery era, showed last week and again tonight in the 2nd half of both games. Players even saying after the game today they don’t have the levels to play like Arteta wants for a whole game yet

Ozil tracking back on the 92nd minute at 2-0 up to win the ball, you really do love to see it.

Also, who knew putting Torreira in the DM position and pairing Xhaka with a proper ball winner was a good idea? Oh yeah, everyone except Emery. They were both immense today and together with Luiz they provided a strong core to the team today.

  12. Vertonghen lost possession 33 times yesterday lol

  15. Why are we trying to sign Lemar?

pretty sure his agent is Mendes so he is offering him around trying to get him a move. he’s linked to everyone right now

Surprising because he has been genuinely fucking horrendous at Atletico.

I actually think there’s still a good player in there, only 24, Atletico was a terrible move for him given their system and such. Would do numbers in a progressive, possession based team

  19. I’d rather we focus on a DM and/or RB but honestly anything would help this team right now.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we pursue a second striker tbh. Kane plays so many minutes every season, for both Spurs and England, and his body is so beat up. He gets injured every season. We never have a proper backup to give him breaks.

  20. Speaking of Kane, it is now confirmed he tore his hamstring. He’ll be out for awhile.

    great

  22. I can’t believe I’m actually going to defend Mourinho, but I am haha

This team was in shambles when he took over. Since then he’s had 3 players miss matches on reds, and now has 2 starters injured (one of which had just come back from injury). Expectations of him coming in and immediately fixing everything were dreamland. Poch wasn’t the (only) problem. The overall lack of enthusiasm from the players was obvious. But Poch’s sudden distance from the squad didn’t help. It seems like the players and Poch were both burnt out. A change at manager was needed as both sides saw the end had been reached. However, the need to change players was also there, and it still is. Poch said over and over the club needed to rebuild and he wasn’t wrong. He just handled it poorly.

I think now that Mourinho has had time with the players he is starting to see the same things Poch saw during his final phase with the club. So far, I think Mourinho has handled it well and is saying the right things. I know it’s impossible, but I just wish fans would be patient. I don’t think the recent results are because “the game has passed Jose by”. I think it’s because he inherited a squad full of problems. It is impossible for him to have it sorted after a month.

That all might be true but the game has also passed him by and he’s a miserable human

  24. This might be true. We’ll find out lol

But I don’t think what we’ve seen from Spurs under him so far is because of that.

    RT.

at United he got “his” players every summer until his last when it seemed like the club had enough. He binned every one of them after realising they didn’t work/were fucking shit in his preferred system. It’s not surprising that Matic was the only one to escape Mourinho unharmed and he’s fucking shit and barely looks like a footballer anymore. All that bollocks about Ed overriding him for transfers is just that, bollocks. He got players he wanted and binned them when he couldn’t get them playing. Mkhitaryan was the funniest. Talk him up all summer then don’t play him for two months before starting him against City and taking him off at half time, then we don’t see him again for four months.

Fred as well. He was talking about him from the January before we signed him. In pre season Mou was saying how fantastic he is. Doesn’t play him for the first two months of the season, when he does play him he scores a cracker against Wolves before being taken off. We drew that match 1-1 after Fred was taken off and Fred got the lions share of the blame despite scoring and the fact we conceded without him on the pitch and was barely seen again under Mourinho.
