Blink is full of shitty people with no accountability because when you have enough money and fans willing to look the other way, who cares? Mark can be all snarky on social media, but at the end of the day, he’s a guy with no backbone.

 

Pretty sure Matt using his position to scream vindication and publicly put down people supporting victims is pretty damning and hurtful. Like, that kind of shit dissuades more victims from wanting to call out abusers.

And Blink flat-out ignoring the mounds of evidence of abuse by a late musician to capitalize on his wave of posthumous success is scummy as fuck and only perpetuates this hopeless feeling that people who do shitty things will keep being able to get away with them.

 

Yeah, I think you're right about that. For me it's murky, but the more I find out about Matt, the less inclined I am to defend him.

The point of my post wasn't to say that my take is correct or the most morally defensible, cause it is NOT, I was just trying to articulate why the blows against blink didn't hit as hard as for me, and maybe for others.

 

Matt looks like a complete asshole in that Instagram post. I think I’m going to write off this iteration of the band now.

As someone who’s been following Alkaline Trio since 2003ish, Matt is definitely one of those people who agrees with a lot of standard “progressive” stances on social issues but gets super defensive and assholey about when someone he likes/admires/collaborates with is a piece of shit

Dan has always been the better Alk3 singer anyway

 

Been playing a lot of dude ranch lately. It's a fun album that reminds me of summertime.

 

I was listening to lemmings last night. I never noticed the insanely obvious punch-in after the palm muted riff in the bridge. Still my all time fav blink song.

 

Lemmings is one of my all time favorites as well! I think that and Waggy are my favorite songs from that album.

Looks like Tom and Mark are on speaking terms again based on his caption there. Not sure if that's old news? I knew Travis was still talking with him but didn't know about Mark

 

Pretty sure they’ve been speaking for a while. They seem to be on good terms.

 

Yeah I think Mark has said they have spoken a few times in the past few years. Once was pretty recent around the time BIOMY and Rebel Girl dropped. Good to see they are on seemingly friendly terms.

 

Ya I dabble. I haven’t played along to a record in maybe a decade. Sounds fun to do again though!

Did you learn it by ear or do you have tabs you could share?

 

Mostly by ear. I used online tabs back in the day but these days it’s mostly by ear if I need a refresher.
