Omg half this thread had their mind made up before they saw a second of this movie

 

I read this on Forbes and I thought to myself that if I had any money at all I would be willing to bet all of it that this is not true before watching a single second of The Rise of Skywalker.

 

The Forbes review is scathing as hell. A lot of what he says about fan attitudes and expectations ring true to me.

 

Okay, so since there's been comments about doing away with trilogies, but also continuing with characters from this trilogy, what characters or stories from this trilogy would you like to see get their own film? (For those that haven't seen this one yet.)

 

Kylo after he leaves Luke. Idk if the new movie goes into any of that but I want to see more of him in general.

 

March of the penguins but with some god damn porgs.

 

I just want more ahsoka content in whatever form I can get it in. Book, TV series, movie maybe

Part of me wants to be annoyed that characters like Captain Phasma and The Knights of Ren ended up amounting to no more than cool looking costumes with cool Star Warsy sounding names...

...and then I remember that my favorite Star Wars "character" was always Boba Fett growing up so.

I was actually just thinking about how I'd like to see Broom Kid be what Rian Johnson goes with for his next project. That or something set long after the sequel trilogy.

 

Broom kid is a symbol. I don’t want to learn he was Qui-Gon’s clone or whatever

Okay just got out of this.

it has story problems, yes. It has pacing problems , yes. But it was fun as hell and a great experience. Not the best Star Wars movie not the worst. There are things sprinkled in this that I think are so great it makes me bummed didn’t they plan stuff out. It would have been great to evolve on some of the really cool aspects they dip into here, just really hard to digest in one movie.

also saw the tenet IMAX prologue and HOLY SHIT

 

Officially finished my chronological rewatch today, watched TLJ for the second time ever, first time out of the theater. I certainly have some problems with it but it's visually stunning and I really like a lot of the story beats they go with, particularly Rey/Kylo/Luke's story

Sat with this for nearly 24 hours, and got my second viewing in just over a day.

The more I think about it, the more I love it. It made me very happy, and I had similar vibes to what I felt when I saw TFA.

 

This guy is definitely great at parties

 

need the "i'm getting married today!" monica gif but instead of that she runs out and says "ITS STAR WARS DAY"

 

Watched Episodes 1 and 2 last night and they age fucking horribly. Episode 2 is basically just watching some horny asshole teenager trying to get his dick wet, it’s so painful to watch.

Episode 1 has some interesting plot with Padme and the politics, but Anakins story sucks, the CGI is god awful, and Anakins mother should be banned from acting

 

a political SW movie is interesting to me, and i think had those stories been made today without george lucas, they'd have been far better.
