Mandalore arc in clone wars is so good. Would have named my kid satine if we had a girl.

 

Knew about rotoscoping the lightsabers and stop motion stuff but the multiple exposures for models with black and white film is insane and I can't comprehend how they did all this stuff.

I’m being cautious after I spoiled something for someone recently. I know the show is old, but a lot of people are discovering and going through the shows now and I didn’t want to ruin it haha

 

Caught up on Resistance and there’s still a lot of bad mixed with the good. I think the formula is basically, if an episode involves the First Order/Tam, then it’s gonna be a good one. If it involves Kaz/Aces high-jinx...not so much. Looked at the upcoming release schedule for the episodes and didn’t know this would be finished by the end of January. Just in time for Clone Wars I guess.

So this is going to be a dumb question.

I know that at one point all the old canon got scrapped from being real canon. Are the new books legit canon for the new trilogies? And if so, since when do they start being canon? I spent 2009-2012 reading pre-2009 Star Wars books and was gutted when old books were erased from canon and never got back into it since(RIP Thrawn). I think I’m ready now.

 

You’ll be happy to know there’s much canon Thrawn! From tv shows to his own book trilogy! The new books and tv shows are canon now.

The book A New Dawn was the first of the new canon material. August 2014 I think?

 

Oh great! I think I got super jaded and assumed a lot of stuff, including Thrawn (one of the best imperial characters!) was just erased. I think in 2014 it was jarring that tons of stuff was just erased, but 5 years later now there are a lot of books and stories. Cool.

 

The new thrawn trilogy is pretty good and he's great on rebels.

I think they also grandfathered Tarkin into cannon.

 

Tarkin came out after A New Dawn.

 

It is pretty nuts when you go back and watch it. There's a lot of decapitations from what I remember.
