In that op ed Reich explains why he (stupidly) conflates them, but it would have been funny if his whole point was just the ridiculous Dem point of “BECAUSE BERNIE ISNT ACTUALLY A DEMOCRAT”

 

David Brooks, in top form, passing off some absolutely incredible nonsense pulled completely out of his ass as if it is incisive political analysis. But this part is what really got me:

"if Johnson wins, it will be in part because exhausted voters have swung over to his extreme from the opposite extreme. What, exactly would compel them to do this? Eh, doesn't matter, don't think about it too much"

 

If Bernie were to be the nominee, do we think Trump will actually agree to debate him in the TV debates? I feel he'd get absolutely crushed. Bernie has no baggage, and is still pretty mentally sharp, so with all the troubles Trump has had these last 3 or so years, Bernie would have an endless amount of topics he could bring up to frustrate Trump

Still blows my mind that they thought it was a good idea to pull the ad in the first place --- that really undermines any claims of real commitment to LGBTQ causes. Also still angers me that there are so many people out there happy the add got pulled.

But I'm still happier to live in a world where companies choose to be pro LGBTQ because that's whats profitable than one where they aren't pro LGBTQ.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Trump skipped debates no matter who the nominee is. I don’t know that he’d skip all three but I could see him doing the first one, performing poorly, and refusing to do the others because of “media bias” or whatever.

 

The new Conservative government in the UK will pass a law making it illegal for public bodies to engage with BDS, UK Special Envoy for post-Holocaust issues Eric Pickles said at the International Institute for Strategic Dialogue’s conference in Jerusalem on Sunday night.

"BDS is antisemitic and should be treated as such," Pickles said, explaining that the new law will not allow public bodies to work with those who boycott, divest from or sanction Israel in any way.
