Little Simz, Rustie, Santigold, World Champion are similar to Grimes and I love them. I tried atleast 5 times to listen to her albums and I don't like it. Not sure how to explain it really. She doesn't sound like Banks to me.

 

Purity Ring & Phantogram are the first 2 I'd compare to Grimes

 

I've only heard one Banks album and I didn't like it but I love Grimes. I can see someone feeling the opposite.

 

I feel like we all have similar artists we like or dislike for no apparent reason

 

Here's a good one, I don't think Nickelback is that bad at all. I really enjoyed the first 3 albums and all things considered they are far from the worst. I think they are better than Three Days Grace, Shinedown, and other bands of the genre that get a pass.

 

I've never listened to anything other than the singles on the radio from Nickelback.

 

My personal favorite.

 

I don't think any of those other bands get a pass either. They're all kind of shit on, Nickelback's just a more popular joke.

 

Nickelback is just kind of bad whereas Three Days Grace has a period where kids feel like they could relate. One might even call it, a Grace period.

 

Another band that gets too much hate is Mumford and Sons, they're super talented

 

What are some bands/artists that you stopped listening to bc the members are trash human beings?

 

Love, Ire and Song is so blatantly Frank Turner's best album, that I really struggle comprehending how anybody else could possibly think otherwise. It's the closest opinion I have to being "objective", because it just seems blindingly obvious to me. It was on that album that he perfected that communal, sing-song down the pub vibe, being English, young, confused, pissed off, but ultimately happy vibe. Everything he's done since then is so clearly a watered-down version of that album, that when I see people say that it's not their favourite album, I just do not get it.

I like his music, and I like all his albums to varying degrees, but LI&S is just an absolutely perfect piece of work and everything else just blatantly isn't. That's probably my "strongest" musical opinion, because I just completely refuse to see / cannot understand the other point of view.

 

Lost Prophets is really the only one. I didn't really listen to them much in the first place but I liked a few of their songs, I actively will not listen to anything they put out now though.

 

They're not likely to be putting out anything now though ha.

 

I'm a big fan of him and I like all of his albums but I absolutely agree with this.

 

Lostprophets were my second favourite band for a long time. Cannot listen at all any more. Fuck that guy.

It's mostly bands like the 1975 that I haven't gotten into, R Kelly has been a tough one for me to figure out " the right thing to do "

I posted this back a while ago in this thread, but I have no problem listening to Start Something by Lostprophets. Obviously, Ian Watkins is a vile person, but I can still enjoy the music. There's no conflict or guilt when I listen to that album.

It might be different hearing it for the first time now, but I'm pretty comfortable with still having it on my ipod.
