Also, my problem with the forum format is that it can easily turn into a shaming pile-on on anyone with an opinion outside of a standard deviation of the norm.

There is a very very very long history of this shit with this specific user. If it was the first time, sure, I could get that ... but it's not ... and it's so beyond absurd at this point it feels like a bit.

I need you to know that I never intended, nor did anyone else here ever think, my altering of your post had any intention of trying to have everyone else think you actually said that. In my experience, quoting someone's post and altering the words and writing "fixed" is a pretty common response. I apologize to you personally if any personal feelings were hurt. There are no malicious intentions of bullying from me to you, and I mean that.

I, again, will stand on my opinion that you are missing the overall point on why a large majority of people here are upset with blink and not excited for the new blink EP ... and that is why it may seem everyone here, including myself, are attacking you.

 

Can .K. apologize for everything that they've said on this site since they joined? Because that's more offensive than altering a post and they have yet to own up to any of it. I assume that I'm blocked at this point, or they're just that overt it ignoring any points that I make.

If you defend someone who is okay with Nazism, then you don't really get to be offended by a jokingly changed quote. Especially when the post says "fixed", meaning that it obviously wasn't in the original quoted post.

One thing that kind of bothers me about some people on this site is how they'll just jump down someone's throat if a person is in the wrong rather than really have a meaningful conversation with them to actually help them understand. It's not a helpful way to change or adjust someone's views. Basically telling someone to leave the site just because they aren't understanding why they're in the wrong doesn't help make the world any better. Try messaging the guy and actually have a personal conversation with him and help him to really understand what you're trying to say. Ganging up on someone isn't going to make them say, "oh wow, i never saw it that way! thanks!" It's just going to push them further away from the point you're actually trying to make because now they're just trying to play defense.

It bums me out that some people feel like they have to leave this site or stay silent in a thread to avoid conflict because they feel like they'll just get shit on if they ask a question, have a different opinion, avoid a topic, etc., when it could actually be a really good learning experience if it's all just handled appropriately. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to ask questions about certain topics or posts that I don't fully understand but I'm afraid of the ridicule I might get so I just delete my post (like I've almost done multiple times already with this one) and ignore the thread or site completely and keep my questions or concerns to myself, or talk to my therapist about them later. A lot of people probably don't have that opportunity though. (Everyone should get a therapist, in my opinion, but that's another conversation.)

I guess this is mainly just a general post because this isn't the first time this has all happened, and I just need to get it off my chest. I'll probably end up deleting this because I'm already stressing out about it.

EDIT: I just saw Jason's post though, and if it's something that a specific user is doing over and over and over again, I get why others would become annoyed, and that's probably justifiable, and completely different from what I'm talking about here.

I, and many others, have tried a billion times. Last time multiple women tried explaining he blocked them and started only responding to men instead.

 

Although, to be clear, there are absolutely members of this site who have left or been made uncomfortable by people using performative wokeness to dunk on them or shit talk them in another thread, and that sucks. Those people have talked to me in private and are genuinely good people trying to figure things out, and they’re still getting mocked
