Oh my god I’m actually trying to do a full rewatch and TPM is so much worse than I remembered. I should not have done this. I really liked it when I was super young and thought the nostalgia might carry me somewhat, but so many aspects are practically unwatchable. The Neimoidians especially make me want to hide my face in my hands.

Also the fact that D+ doesn’t have actual subtitles and just uses closed captioning is really disappointing. They take up so much of the screen.

 

It's bad. My dad introduced me to Star Wars when I was little and it's the one that completely turned him off of anything Star Wars related ever again.

 

I grew up enough between this and AOTC that I watched that critically and hated it, but my love for the OT kept me around until TFA and I’m so glad it did. But yikes this is rough. I can’t believe there are fans who recommend starting with this to total newbies, that does such a disservice to the series.

 

The Kenobi and Jango fight is good.
