you will never be able to convince me that a best of list shouldn't contain the best of.

Passion Of The Weiss doesn’t put singles on their singles list that are from albums that they put on their album list. They do this for more diversity. They simply highlight this at the beginning of the list. I think it’s a similar situation.

Also Pitchfork can’t make a list I care about anyway, I don’t care how they title it lol

Yeah I can agree with that at least. I still visit pitchfork for news, but their lists and reviews are just not for me

Uproxx excludes albums from their main list when they make genre list, which has led to extra exposure for really great records that weren't necessarily as widely heard. I get what @username is arguing for, definitely. It always made sense to me, at least in regards to something like their "Best Country Albums" lists, which delve beyond the 2-3 token country records that they put on the overall list.

Resavoir and Angel Bat David made the cut. Still pretty light on the jazz though.

Ah, must have missed them. I liked the Resevoir album, but out of all the great jazz released this year? It’s way down the list.

I respect a gecs #1 way more than I respect putting one the standard critical darings at that spot.

There are some solid albums on here that I haven’t seen much attention on from other publications, so I actually dig this list haha.
