My brother & wife are out. Nicole and I are unsure of what to do.

My parents were supposed to come back from Florida (and watch my nephew), but have pushed back their flight indefinitely because my Dad's hip is giving him a really hard time. He is using a cane to get around now. Which I feel awful about, but he's had this pain for months and has let it get worse and worse and worse and he did nothing about it. But now that it's the holidays, his procrastination has ruined this trip that my brother and I have planned for a year, and now it's possible he might stay down south for Christmas... which would bring about a whole different set of problems. If he had looked into his hip pain over the summer, he'd probably be getting around easily now. Since he's barely been moving around for the past month or so, his heart is probably weakened even more, so at the back of my mind I'm wondering if this is the beginning of more heart problems for him.

 

I’m going to the dentist today, everybody send good thoughts.

Sorry the trip got ruined for your brother and his wife, that's a real bummer.

My dad does the same shit, is very sick and won't do anything about it. It's both self-defeating and some weird pride/machoism thing. At some point I step back and can't engage because it is toxic for me but it sucks when it seeps into your life no matter how far back you step. Hope you and Nicole can at least get some fun out of the weekend though.
