lmao just remembered that the Kevin James NBC show he was on a few years ago, which was a comedy / sitcom, KILLED HIS WIFE OFF after season 1 so they could team him up with Leah Remini again lmao

She was definitely the core of that show in the later seasons so losing her sucked. I wish she would have signed on again. I agree they shouldn’t have recast Mandy. They recast one of the other daughters early on and it worked and nobody can pull that off twice lol

yeah, the oldest daughter got recast after season 1 because the original actress wanted more money or something (bold move asking for more money when you've done... nothing before that lol)

technically they recast Ryan too. he was played by fucking Nick Jonas in season 1 for an episode or two but i think the original plan there was not to write him as a regular character and when they decided that obviously they had to get someone else.

Oh man I forgot about Ryan being recast. But yeah it was before he was a regular. They also recast their kid if I remember it right. That show has had a wild ride, but it’s still going.

It was crazy. It’s like when the Rosanne-sequel turned into The Connors and said she died of an opioid overdose lol how dark is that

Lmfao definitely a solid "fuck you" to the real Roseanne, but yeah that's dark. It's a bummer how she turned out to be, I really liked the show growing up.

I didn’t like Roseanne as a kid because it was too close to real life and serious. My life didn’t mirror the hardships the Connors faced, but as a kid I was like, “why would I want to watch this and be sad?” So then I’d turn on Full House or something.

watching episodes now, at 31, I appreciate the show more and see what it did but back then it was not something I wanted to spend time with.

Last Man on Earth deserves mention. I love it all but after a bit of a rocky start for a first-time viewing, it generally gets better and better and the ending, albeit premature, is fitting and beautiful. I absolutely love it and it only gets better after each rewatch.

  11. Last Man on Earth was amazing. A sitcom that was doing something different and was laugh out loud hilarious. It was so absurd yet endearing.

Frasier just gets me. Last night I was watching the episode where Niles gets the lakefront cottage in the divorce and Frasier tries to go duck hunting and the way he says "who knew ducks were so shifty?!" Made me laugh way too long for someone who has seen that episode many times. It's def dated looking in terms of sets and wardrobe, but humor holds up

As far as multi-cam sitcoms with laugh tracks/studio audiences go, I always feel like That 70's Show doesn't get the credit it deserves

It’s definitely full of dark humor so if that’s not your thing then it is what it is. But I love dark humor so it was great, haha

I was fine with it but that episode where they killed Boris was too fucked up for me lol At some point to me it felt like they tried to make it more realistic, which I just found silly, because if they want to be realistic the whole premise has to be canned. That's just me though.

Yeah they walked a fine line between outlandish comedy and then all the sudden hit you with relatable life-changing-moment dRama, but I dig it

The “Cartoons/Movies That Made Us” series (or whatever it’s called) is a good nostalgia trip on Netflix. Watched the specials on Home Alone, Die Hard, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers over the last few days. Fun, breezy stuff.

I'll have to check it out! The Toys That Made Us show was also a good one. I liked the Power Rangers, TMNT, Lego and Transformers ones
