Hm interesting. Well, as far as anybody who hasn't read Peteypedia knows, it is. He's referred as that by any articles and wiki pages about his character. I doubt that pun was unintentional anyway lol

 

“Abar” was the name on Angela’s father’s name tag in the flashback so she must have kept her maiden name for reasons that are now obvious. Her grandmother must have used it after she left Will and moved back to Tulsa.

Seems all those articles and wikis were operating under an incorrect assumption.

 

Maybe he took her last name when they married. The Peteypedia report simply lists her as an officer who was concerned of his welfare and that she was doing some sort of background check on him. Sounds like they weren't married yet

 

She was clearly with Manhattan before he decided to take on the Calvin Jelani persona, and the reason why she was involved in the report is because she helped him do whatever he did to take human form/was waiting there to take care of him when he woke up with amnesia.

 

None of what you just said discredits what I said though. Just because she was with Manhattan before doesn't mean she was married to him yet. Idk why we're arguing about the semantics of this though, the name of the vibrator was almost definitely a joke from the writers lol

 

I don’t think so, personally, just think calling it Excalibur was a petty dig at Laurie from Dan who made the dildo because he couldn’t get over his own feelings of inadequacy. The pun seems like a reach to me, especially considering his last name wasn’t Abar, which is why I brought it up in the first place.

 

Predicting now that Cal wasn't just a Manhattan-made human shell but an actual person that Manhattan and Angela basically killed for the sake of their own relationship. Which, you know, pretty fucked up

Also now I really don't know what's up with Ozymandias. Is he in some sort of coma/fever dream, maybe? Is everything happening with him just prior to Manhattan met Angela? If not Manhattan then clearly Lady Trieu has to be behind it

Also the pigs rushing into the court room reminded me of something

I'm extremely on the side of it being an intentional pun/easter egg by the writers lol. Which, again, I'm sure there will be tons of really tiny hints like that if we go back and look for them

A woman in Texas was actually killed by feral hogs recently. I was really surprised that no one made an allusion to that tweet in the reporting of it

 

The question of is who is behind Veidt’s imprisonment just got even more interesting considering he was last seen publicly in 2007, which is two years before Manhattan became Calvin Jelani in December 2009. If Manhattan was behind it, that would explain the “god has abandoned us” comments. I just still can’t imagine what his motivation would be to imprison Veidt like that.

Also, Angela told the doctor that Cal’s “prior employer” was Pyramid Global Construction, and we all know who owned that company based on the name alone.

 

I fast forwarded over two pages of comments. I got to the point with the elephant and then...wtf. I need this shit explained to me...from then on lol

I’m guessing something about an elephant’s brain was the key to developing Nostalgia because of their extremely long memory skills.

Cal has actually been Dr. Manhattan this whole time—with what looks like a technological implant to keep him in human form/powerless/without his memories.

I don’t think anyone knows wtf is going on with Veidt.

Lindelof’s thing is leaving lots of things unexplained—so you’ll have to ask more specific questions if I missed anything.

 

I’ve only seen the first three episodes but fuck this is so good.

 

Good god damn. What an episode last night! This has become must see TV and now it’s almost over lol.
