ok but people who strictly refer to themselves as "entrepreneurs" in my experience usually do so with some pretense and charlatanism. Let's zero in on something folks

Oh lol maybe. I feel like some people rly make a living jumping from thing to thing like that so they rly don’t zero in they just open businesses of all kinds back to back

but mostly I’m just referring to people bucking the traditional work industry and refusing exploitation and becoming their own bosses and exploiting capitalism in their own way rather than vice versa lol

like I’m genuinely shocked by these reactions if I’m being honest. Like literally in this day and age and with the Internet/social media it’s more possible than ever to make a living for yourself doing something non traditional/self-employed

maybe self employed is a better term ?? Idk

 

The word has a negative connotation for me as well, probably unfairly so. Maybe it’s because I went to a college where the biggest focus was the business school and I experienced way too many obnoxious business bros who always talked about being entrepreneurs.

Dudes who say they're "entrepreneurs" remind me of all the guys in my business school and lemme tell ya they weren't great

 

What if instead of 'entrepreneurs' their profile said 'business owner'? I too see the negative connotation to the word, but the act itself, of owning your own business, is great and commendable!

 

"Entrepreneurs" were only overshadowed by the people at my school who wanted to be goldman sach executives

 

Oh god yeah we had tons of those too. Maybe I’m just bitter about all the condescension I put up with for being a history major.
