Diegetic in what context? Like how if you murder a load of people in the town the shopkeeps and saloon patrons pass comment, are judgemental and react differently? Because that absolutely happens haha. Not really sure I understand what specifically you’re referring to regarding diegetic ‘map’ as such. Arthur comments on events and goings-on in the world and its characters. Off the top of my head I remember when you stumble across the meteor house with all the fried body parts and he’s retching and in disgust and shock. Or the murder house. Or the incestuous couple. Or when John revisits the rapist in the swamp. Or when I was walking down the corridor at a hotel and couldn’t get past a woman, so had to walk slowly behind her, and she accused me of stalking her and ran off screaming while Arthur tried to defend himself. Whenever you walk around the camp he’s usually commenting on things to folk depending on what’s going on with the story too. What exactly do you mean by diegetic map?

...you don’t really mean a LITERAL in-game map do you? Cos I reckon that’d be a pain in the arse anyway. Hated them in previous games, personally. Having to squint at the screen for the sake of a gimmick.

Ha, I have a digital shelf but everything I’ve ever loved enough to buy physically gets finished asap. On my digital shelf issss:

Sekiro - never to be finished.
Bloodborne (in a sense - I still need to do the DLC)
Red Faction Guerrilla Re-mars-tered (I regret buying this because I played the OG to death and it isn’t much of a remaster)
Nearly every free game I’ve downloaded from the PS+ monthly promotions, including MGSV and Detroit.

The only Uncharted game with a mediocre/bad story is 3, while having the best villain of the series oddly enough.

 

Actually, the first game’s story is so so too. 2 and 4 are superb games though and I’ll be outside if you wanna fight about it.

 

I’m on a roll now. None of the Bioshock games have good stories, Rapture and Columbia are cool concepts as settings but that’s it. Ken Levine can keep huffing his own farts for all I care.
