I'm sure there are people in this thread hoping I will shut up about it every time it's brought up, even though it's not me even bringing it up anymore, but just so we're clear and reminded, xxx is a man who held a pregnant woman hostage, made her choose between a knife and a bbq fork to r*pe her with, water tortured her by drowning her in the tub repeatedly, stomped on her knowing she was pregnant, beat her daily with plastic hangers, beat her for singing other rap artists songs and wouldn't let her leave his premises because he had beaten her so badly and he didn't want people to see, and that's not even half of it, or THE WORST of it, not even close.

XXXTentacion’s Reported Victim Details Grim Pattern of Abuse in Testimony

Unfortunately, you can also see the photos of the aftermath via google if you need yet another sobering reality check.

He also very excitedly BRAGGED about beating another person for being gay for clout.

I'd really like to let it sink in that 3 fully adult men, 2 of whom postured themselves as feminist and lgbtq+ allies are choosing to ignore every bit of that in favor of a writing credit.

Your favorite band is choosing to support that.

Once again consider what that means for fans that are victims of abuse and lgbtq+, consider what that says to us and what we and our support actually mean to them at the end of the day. Consider that there are those of us that do not have the choice of the luxury as brushing this off as a "tone deaf" mistake because it means ignoring the fact that someone would profit of our trauma for their own personal gain.

Consider how much music means to you and then consider how it feels to be betrayed like that on a human level and then having every bit of enjoyment and memory tainted because you've basically been told you don't matter because fans are a dime a dozen and it was worth dehumanizing an already marginalized group in favor of a dime.

    It fucking sucks.

Clearly he doesn’t care or he wouldn’t have agreed to do it.

To clarify my tone deaf comment it was because I feel like Mark is pretty good about being aware of social issues. By all accounts of people that know and have met him he’s a genuinely good person and does a lot for charities. That’s why it’s so disappointing he would to do this.

    cool dogs

i was really hoping that Tentacion song from a few weeks back that sort-of sampled I Miss You was the extent of what this collaboration was going to be. not that that would be much better if it was something the band signed off on, but it'd have bothered me a little less than a full-on original piece of music composed with/for Tentacion by the band.

love Mark but it's just lame for him to be so supportive of the lgbt community particularly over the last few years, and then still decide to work with a kid who nearly killed a guy in prison for "staring" at him and assuming ill intention because he was gay. i think this story has been around for too many months and people posting at Mark about this for him to not know of this story by now.

Is the EP only going to be collaborations? I hope not. I also hope if it is all collaborations, it’s with a bunch of different style of artists and not just limited to the most popular artists right now.

I’d be fine if it was just Mark, Travis, and Matt.....
but that said, Mark has mentioned ‘punk’ a lot during this album cycle. With the Bad Religion influence and DIY punk show art on Generational Divide, I think a guest appearance from a punk hero or friend of theirs would be cool. Sort of similar to inviting Robert Smith of the Cure for Untitled as sort of a New Wave/Alt Brit Rock hero.

Even if you are being sarcastic (which is still pretty problematic), I don't think the walking pyramid scheme of Tom DeLonge is anyone to boast any morale high ground for when it comes to making a profit.

This entire situation of blink being involved in any way with that dude is so fucking gross and so fucking dumb.

I think people should read something like his Wikipedia bio to understand why a guy like that is so messed up. It’s not an excuse or justification, but an insight.

I know a lot of people want to give Mark the benefit of the doubt on this or not go as hard on him because Travis is blink’s primary link to x but get ready for the interviews where Mark is going to talk about how talented x was and how excited he was to contribute to his posthumous album

They should have XXX on a blink song too while they're at it, why stop at just featuring on one of his songs since they're all the way in on co-signing his behavior.
