Feel like my football career would've went a little further if I was the k-mart version of Arian Foster, but thanks for the compliment.

Do you watch Hockey? Plays zoom around on sharp knives. There's a level of danger there, sometimes people accidentally get cut on them, yeah we're accustomed to that. If a player were to remove one of those skates and swing it at somebodies head like they're fucking Happy Gilmore would you still be like "ah welp he's a human and sometimes the sport is violent can't be mad about it"

No one is dehumanizing the dude we are just saying he should face the same consequences as if anyone slammed something like that into another person’s head. I used the wrong word “battery”, my bad, but I really don’t get why youve twisted that into this whole inverted narrative.

Equating this to sanctioned violence in football is dumb because between the whistles you actually have a helmet on to protect yourself!! How is Garrett swinging on Rudolph’s exposed head the same thing?

Garrett is a fucking bitch for using ANY sort of prop to attack a dude who is tiny by NFL standards. I’m not dehumanizing him; I’m judging him fairly because that’s cruel and that’s not how a grown fucking man fights. Total bitch made move for a 275 pound guy who was in absolutely zero danger. As @Fucking Dustin said even if he punched the dude at least that’s a normal fight. Swinging weapons at people isn’t just the “human” thing to do in a mild altercation. It’s only “normal” to do that when you legitimately fear for your life. It’s abusive and malicious behavior otherwise.

And to be clear if we are talking about comparing that to intentional dirty hits on the field, yes I also think Vontaze Burfict didn’t receive nearly enough punishment for the stuff he’s done either. I think Gregg Williams should not be allowed to coach in the NFL anymore. Etc

Neither did Haynesworth for the stomping or Pacman for the Cooper slam

Exactly. Haynesworth... what the fuck man didn’t he get signed again and play again after that

@tkamB where do you draw the line? You can’t tell me Haynesworth is “just a human who got too emotional” for stomping on that dudes head just because he didn’t think the cleats would puncture his face

I can’t remember, did this happen on the Bonercats? Or did it happen on the Titans and then the Bonercats signed him?

Best part was when he showed up to camp out of shape and Shanahan went out of his way to publicly embarass him by making him run the fitness test each day before he could be cleared to practice: So close, so far: Haynesworth flunks fitness test by 1 second

Haynesworth wasn't even permitted to take part in the team's one-hour walkthrough in which the players wore baseball caps.

Haynesworth instead worked on conditioning drills near the field. At one point, he stood with hands on hips watching his teammates, looking like an exile who can't join the party. Asked by a reporter if his teammates were giving him a hard time, Haynesworth used a profanity and essentially said he didn't care.

That was pretty much peak local DC radio

Mason Rudolph is 6'5, 236 pounds. He's not even tiny by NBA standards.

As bad as that team still is, I feel like the period between Zorn & Shanahan is when the fanbase just completely lost their minds. Whenever they traded for McNabb and benched him for Rex Grossman.

No, I am not big on giving an opinion on things I'm not so decided about myself. I don't know enough, even surface level to judge what happened. I just thought it was interesting he called Mason Rudolph tiny.

The year they tried to convince themselves that Beck/Grossman was a real show-down for who starts...and then the way they handled the Zorn firing. It was all a pretty spectacular failure.

Its amazing to think that where they are currently is worlds better than where they were then
