Weird that if this gets a few seasons we will have more screen time with it than all the movies combined.

there's about ~30 hours of movies if you count R1 and Solo so yeah, 3+ seasons would do it haha

eight episode seasons always leave me wanting more but they tend to obviously be more focused and less fluff which is normally the best possible thing. HBOs Barry comes to mind.

however, I want to live in the underbelly of the star wars universe as a bounty hunter for as long as possible

i'm always interested in exploring times outside of/inbetween the trilogies, which is why this, clone wars, and even R1 intrigued me so much.

i haven't seen an episode of Clones or Rebels and I definitely want to get into those, but I need the time haha

Oh man, definitely watch those. There are episodes and story arcs in both shows that are up there as my favorite in all Star Wars canon.

Oh man, you’re in for a treat if you haven’t seen those. Definitely do Clone Wars first and I’d recommend looking up and viewing in chronological order.

when I tried to watch clone wars all the embellished storylines and the extra characters in the series that are uber important suddenly dont exist anymore when it comes time to tie the timeline to the films, so it actively makes it feel annoyingly disconnected and not canon to me because theres next to zero reference (understandably because it didnt exist when the films were created). idk it feels like a total mess imo.

Yeah I've always thought this about Clone Wars, especially. Like all this stuff happened in the time between Episode 2 & 3 and nobody references hardly any of it? Not even the fact that Anakin had a padawan of his own? lol

I haven't finished the show yet so I don't know how it ends but that's so wild to me.

    Interesting.

for me, Clone Wars fills in gaps and makes Anakin a likable character, something the movies never did for me. As well, getting to actually see Obiwan and Anakin as friends and not just a reference to joint adventures. It does introduce new characters and generally gives reasons why they weren’t around during the OT.

Rebels is super integrated into the OT and characters even show up. Plus the Ghost crew are incredible on their own. It also ties up some of the loose ends from Clone Wars and gets to have a proper and awesome ending.

I mean there was alot going on in ROTS that you could see why Ahsoka who had run away an undetermiend amount of time before ROTS might not be the most important thing on Anakin's mind.

Clone Wars happens between II & III? correct?

To be fair no one knows how it truly ends, we’re getting the final season next year.

I don’t think I have the same qualms y’all are referencing. When you consider all thats going in in episode III, there really aren’t a whole lot of moments where it would make sense for anyone to bring up Ahsoka or other goings on within TCW. Just not a high priority when the republic is falling apart.

Not to say the critique isn’t valid and sure it would be great if there was more tie in. That’s just a product of the order in which these trilogies/shows are created.

I don’t find it weird that a movie that covers a few days(? How much time is covered in ep3? Days, right?) doesn’t reference every little thing from a show that covered years. Plus, obviously, they were made in reverse order, so they couldn’t have.

but I like stuff like the fact that the Clone Wars team made sure that Anakin never Met Grievous face to face the whole series since he tells Anakin he is shorter than expected in Ep3. Grievous calls Obiwan the negotiator and we get to see where that nickname originated from in Clone Wars.

I dunno. Ultimately, it just doesn’t bother me as long as things don’t contradict. Which Clone Wars and Rebels do a great job with that.

Stuff like Leia remembering her mother in ROTJ and then Padmé dying at child birth bothers me. The shows don’t do stuff like that.

I mean, it is canon that Anakin was with Ahsoka right before he went to wave Palpatine... haha but that was added after the movies obviously.

Id just rather from now on that the story planners or whoever give themselves the room to write a story that doesnt have to tiptoe around bedrock existing events

hopefully theyre doing that with mandalorian and whatever new trilogies bc goddamn

Sure. I personally want the next movies to be set decades (at least) after episode 9. That way there would be some impact from the saga, but far enough off and nothing to work to that they can do whatever they want to.

Count me as another who feels the same. I enjoy some of the other canon material, but when there’s not even the slightest reference to some of the massive things that happen in the animated shows, books, comics, etc, it really dissuades me from even giving them a chance anymore. I was caught up on all of the outside material at one point, but it becomes extremely tedious when there no incentive or reward for it.
