The amount of vitriol directed at Taylor for what is ultimately petty celebrity drama is worrisome. I have no clue how people can be this overtly hateful and shameless about it, especially from the same fan base that consistently defends Kanye's disgusting behavior.

I'm a big fan of Kanye's music and I don't particularly love Taylor Swift, and some of tweets about this have been funny, but I don't understand the unfiltered hatred.

I think me and Kanye are on the same page about Pink. She has so many hits and anyone who says they can name many of them are a liar!!

 

Honestly both sides seem petty at this point in my eyes, and the "Taylor is done" shit on Twitter is hilarious. If anything she'll be more popular than ever with all this publicity.

who's to say she didn't know she was being recorded? we've only seen clips from the video that don't include the start of the conversation. that's a pretty big assumption.

No, funnily enough it was leaked audio of him. He used to genuinely crack me up. Like when he replaced his blog apology with

"I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents when he messed up everything and Robert DeNiro asked him to leave...."

 

I don't know how phones work. But could she of written it. Saved a draft, edit it and then screenshot it?

Also I hate screenshots of notes.

 

I'm not a lawyer but I did learn a little about this in communications law (journalism major). Recording across state lines is a huge grey area, but to be safe the laws of both states should be obeyed. People are assuming Kanye was in California (a 2-party state) but he said something about Nashville (Tenn. is a 1-party state) so idk. And Taylor was on vacay with her family right? Dunno what state/country she was in then. Basically I know nothing, this post is way less helpful than I thought it'd be oops

I think people were attentive to the Cosby thing - but you can't really compare the situations because (to my knowledge) Kanye has never lied/denied the Cosby tweet OR used that lie to bring someone down.

He's still controversial for a lot of reasons, but Taylor getting caught vilifying him is literally flipping the script on how the media/public has come to understand their relationship

 

One could argue a lot of people were brought down by his statement about Bill Cosby though.

 

Don't be silly, it takes zero logical steps to make a very educated guess that she did not know she was being recorded.

If you don't think she wrote the message, sent it to many people to read, then went back to it before posting ... you're crazy.

 

how is assuming she didn't know anymore logical than assuming she didn't? if we're making educated guesses, I'm more inclined to believe that Kanye has been more above board with everything than he's gotten credit for.

you are completely right and I hadn't thought about that. I still think it's hard to compare the two situations because they're both very different, but you are right.

 

Nope, legitimately worried about everyone calling Taylor Swift a number of sexist slurs on Twitter, seemingly without remorse, coming from the same people who defended Kanye's tweet about a rapist being innocent.

 

Because of how the video is recorded, edited, and the statements from both parties make it overwhelmingly obvious she wasn't aware she was being recorded.

Then why not include in the video the specific part she's had an issue with?

I mean, I disagree with people being recorded without their permission, with it being put on the internet in pure bullying fashion, and with people calling women slurs. But that's just me.

 

I don't think these snaps will impact her too much but I wonder how the overexposure will. She was already overexposed with the Calvin/Tom stuff and now this will extend it longer. Sis needs to be lowkey until her album comes out. Not that it won't sell a zillion copies still but public opinion always turns on celebs when they're inescapable. If she gets this much attn while on a break, idek

 

yeah haha. i don't use notes that often but you can search for things and they could be anywhere between hours to months old, no? so i'm not sure how that's a good "gotcha" unless i'm not up to date with how iOS works. i imagine she re wrote that multiple times, it doesn't prove or disprove anything, hoax or not?
