The statement continued: 'However, that does not change the fact that much of what Kim is saying is incorrect. Kanye West and Taylor only spoke once on the phone while she was on vacation with her family in January of 2016 and they have never spoken since. Taylor has never denied that conversation took place.

'It was on that phone call that Kanye West also asked her to release the song on her Twitter account, which she declined to do. Kanye West never told Taylor he was going to use the term 'that b***h' in referencing her. A song cannot be approved if it was never heard. Kanye West never played the song for Taylor Swift.'

It concluded: 'Taylor heard it for the first time when everyone else did and was humiliated. Kim Kardashian's claim that Taylor and her team were aware of being recorded is not true, and Taylor cannot understand why Kanye West, and now Kim Kardashian, will not just leave her alone.'

 

Oh then My bad. I could have sworn her or her people said she never approved of being mentioned at all. Sorry!

It seems like, as it was stated on the previous page, that they might have mentioned it, but it really feels like we will never know since the video is pretty choppy.

but yeah anyone cheering for her downfall will be disappointed. Kim/Kanye will prob win this round cause I doubt many people will make the distinction in what Taylor said and they'll celebrate her being exposed, but she'll bounce back quickly and be praised when she says something well-spoken about it. I really don't think she'll have a dramatic downfall ever. She'll prob fade out naturally someday or pull back to live her life eventually, but whatever it is I doubt it'll be this big epic thing that tears her down.

 

She legit talks about the famous line in the video. Not sure what this thread is talking about.

Did you read her statement? If you did, I'm not sure why you're confused. She was specifically upset about being referred to as "that bitch".

 

tbh I was surprised she even gave her original statement. I could see her addressing it in a vague roundabout way when she's talking about feminism and how she's perceived in the media, but either way she'll come out winning. If this was the start of the 1989 era she'd totally be passive aggressively liking things on tumblr about it but I think she stopped doing that once promo ended lol.

 

seems pretty obvious that people are trying to find loopholes to defend Taylor swift. Which is fine I suppose. The line is bad either way. That's not really what I'm referring to. Just think it's odd people are so OK with someone blatantly lying for the sake of PR. Kind of weird. Not gonna convince anyone here one way or the other. Just speaking my mind.

Spent some time thinking about this. The conclusion I came to is, there are a number of situations in which women accede to the wishes of men, not because it is something they want to do, but because various pressures make them think they have no other choice. That may have been what happened here. That isn't to say that there aren't racists out there, who will portray this as an aggressive black man trying to pray on a young white woman, but I think we can hold two ideas in our head at the same time; that is, the implicit racial and gender dynamics at play in any given social interactions that sculpt and determine how we act and the decisions we make, etc.
