The writing, and the skills/dialogue system is great. I don’t think I’ve ever played an RPG where the dialogue skill/perks affect combat.

 

Yeah, I hope it's not just a walk through a battle scene

 

Felt more like off brand Mass Effect to me. It doesn't have the scope of Fallout.

yeah the writing is good in places but for some reason it just never got fun for me. it's a shame because I like everything it's trying to do it just doesn't do it well imo

 

making a stealth delivery across a battlefield would actually be lit

 

The scope is pretty large for what is technically a AA game. Instead of one large open world it’s spread out across different planets and landing zones. It’s just structures differently.

 

Just finished Persona 5 for the first time and I am very sad

 

I'm actually liking the delivery side of it. Though that cargo management screen is toooooough.

You use off-brand Mass Effect negatively as if Technomancer isn’t awesome

 

Yeah I much prefer the multiple planets that are each fairly large, rather than have one massive map that looks pretty much the same everywhere

 

The planets just don’t really look all that interesting either. And the slomo isn’t as cool as VATS

 

Atelier Ryza is so sweet & addicting, I love it. switching between this one and Death Stranding creates drastic mood swings, though

 

Disagree. I think the environments are real unique, and interesting. The slo mo isn’t as good as VATS, but it gets the job done.

 

It sounds like a good entry in the series. Some are bland.

 

VATS is the main reason I hate playing Fallout so I strongly disagree with that. The combat system is garbage.

If you haven’t played the game, you aren’t going to care about what the planets look like because it all connects with the story in various ways. They are all very different from each other when you actually are playing, if you are just watching people player it’s just gonna look the same.

Not sure how anyone could complain about the planets and their differences in this though, after playing Fallout’s “here’s yet another expanse of nuclear wasteland and a bunker, that will be $60, have fun”

umm, it's turn based, also quite fast paced. I'd say similar to Tales series? Grandia?

 

Yeah, especially because this time there are no time limits at all. never liked the feeling of being rushed in these cozy worlds.
