I've seen it live and witnessed the fans around me that didn't react to it at all. It didn't leave any other meaningful impact on me, either. I also have had the chance to see Bed live two times. Again, little to no reaction from the crowd save for a few fans. Just took the wind out of the sets.

Bed is one of my favorite tracks off Daisy.

 

This is the only song clip I'm gonna put here, I normally hate clips but the crowd was so into the song that I wanted to get them singing along at the end...

 

Looking at all this set list talk reminds me how few records this band has released over a long period of time.

 

They're a quality over quantity type of band.

 

There are a lot of quality bands that have released a lot more material over the same period of time. It's a nice thing to say, but this band has really lacked releases.

I feel like with the official release of the demos, Mene, I Am A Nightmare and so on is a move I a positive direction.

 

Fair enough. They're my favourite band but 'Bed' makes them not be untouchable. It just meanders and goes nowhere.

 

Yep. It's awful. As in, full of awe.

 

Bed is fantastic and it's bridge is gorgeous.

Noro observations:

1.) Vin is the lead singer of Shone. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise

2.) "I'm on my way down."

3.) It sounds damn good live

 

is "I'm on my way down" what's he saying in the live video? Haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

 

Bed is one of the (seemingly) most hated Brand New songs. I don't love it but I certainly don't think it's awful.

Can someone who hates it break it down for me?

 

I love it but it's the lyrics that throw most people off I think

 

i went back to daisy today for the first time in a while. i don't know if i ever remembered in a jar being that bad.

 

I noticed a funny observation. For as loved as Brand New is, many people seem to have issues with two of their albums (Your Favorite Weapon and Daisy). For a band that only has four albums and people to dislike 50% of the catalogue, it's just surprising how passionate their fans are. Not trying to start a war, just noting an interesting (imo) observation.

(Realized this is probably going to start a very Defensive riot)

 

I think if anything, that goes to show how good those other two records are. Plus, there's quite a bit of people who thoroughly enjoy YFW and Daisy.

 

Daisy is the only Brand New album I love.

 

a lot of bands break up before even getting to two good albums, and of their four albums one is not as good as the rest but still not terrible (yfw, but like probably mostly nostalgia). Daisy is great though, tied for their best, i'll fight for that one

 

I think it has to do with how drastically different so much of their catalog is, that it brings different people in for different reasons, but they're so great at each of the different things (to people) that people can hold Devil And God to a Shape Of Punk To Come level in their lives and absolutely LOATHE Your Favorite Weapon or hold Deja that high and hate Daisy, and still feel like the band is a classic. I don't know. I'm thinking out loud and not proofreading as I write so I apologize if my thoughts come across jumbled or inaccurate haha.
