I need some advice

so a friend of mine's dad committed suicide back in February, and that's unfathomable to me and I have no clue how he contends with it, but I was there for him throughout that time in every way that I could be. a few months back tho, I was going through a really difficult time, contemplating suicide pretty much every day myself and just hating life in general. I conveyed these feelings to said friend in the most tasteful way I could, and basically told him that I needed a friend, needed to be around people that I know (or felt at the time, at least) cared for me, but he always told me he was busy with school/work and that when he had some free time that we would hang out. now the crux of this is that not only did that day never come, but he took a trip to North Carolina to visit a mutual friend of ours (somewhat, I don't really like the dude) and he couldn't carve out any time for me. now he's messaging me and telling me he misses me, etc. and I am very tempted to tell him my feelings about the way he treated me and how it's not at all alright. I just don't know if being brusque and frankly kind of a dick about it is the right way to go about it, especially given all that he's been through in the past year, but at the same time: I've been through a lot this past year as well, and whereas I was there for him, he wasn't at all there for me in turn.

 

Tell him to go fuck himself with a chainsaw.

but really you should be honest with your friend, especially if you’re willing to deal with them again. They weren’t there for you like you for them. Talk. And then get that chainsaw if they are dismissive.

Be upfront and honest about your feelings. It may feel like you’re being a dick but it is selfish for your friend to have you be there for him and that friend then won’t reciprocate when you need him. Plus, it’s possible that he just never realized this and it needs to be pointed out to him.

I’m listening to City and Colour for the first time in years, probably since 2012-2013 if I had to be honest. It reminded me of a person and a situation I have bad memories and regrets looking back on it.

my work doesn’t have any work so they offered voluntary time off and I took it because I made plans with a coworker.

they cancelled on me so I made plans with another friend. They also just cancelled on me so I might as well have stayed at work tbh.

 

I almost added her on FB a few weeks back. I was drinking and was high, I saw her pop up on the friend suggestions feature. I sent a friend request and then deleted it minutes later. It’s like, the last time I talked to her, I was in such an awful place and to be honest, I came off as such a creep. I regret it a lot and I’ve wanted to apologize to her, but I also feel like it’s best I just don’t intrude on her life, you know?

and we only had like an hour and 30 left of work so it wasn’t even that bad but now I’m waiting for jack in the box.

 

I actually met someone yesterday in a different department who licks the boot to an insane level.

 

Would it help them if you apologized any? If not, maybe you should leave them alone. I obviously don’t know the whole story but if it makes you feel shitty maybe don’t.

I dunno, I don’t think it will if I had to be honest. It’d be nice to do it but I honestly imagine she’s not be down with me taking to her. Plus, she knows people who posts here so eh, I’ll just stay away I guess.
