Last one I streamed was Motion City Soundtrack's new one. I have noticed it is better if you stream from the Pandora website as opposed to the app. Still don't know if I want my initial listen to this album to be a crappy quality one.

Only two songs in and it's better than whatever they came out with last. I remember listening to that once and hating it. The first song on this reminds me of Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin.

Not available outside US, can't listen. Bummer. :(

To those who did get a listen: I can honestly say that I didn't mind listening to Collapsible Lung (well except for Gloria), so if I set my expectation level at Collapsible Lung's quality, will I enjoy this? Or will I really really enjoy this?

I love it. Great step forward. The only song I didn't like was "God" but that's because I'm a non practicing Jew. It was expected.

  11. The quality of this stream is horrendous. Still, I can't wait much longer haha

EDIT: Oh god am I loving this record. Feels so good to have them back on top of their game.

  12. Yes! I thought the same thing.

I will never understand how I can sometimes agree with your hot takes so hard, and then other times think they are the most absurd things I have ever read.

This is squarely in the latter camp.

I don't think Mmhmm is as incredible as a lot of people do. I like it a lot and love the second half but most of the first half of that album is just ok to me. I think Five Score and FANSD are both a decent amount better. This is closer to Mmhmm but I think it does more interesting things and doesn't have the bland pop punk songs Mmhmm has.

Wut? Five Score is just a significantly worse version of everything they did well on MMHMM. MMHMM is in my mind the perfect pop-punk album.

It's not, Five Score is much more of a pop rock album than a pop punk one. I feel like Five Score took the best things they were doing on Mmhmm and made a full album out of them. I think Mmhmm is a great pop punk album but I'm not a huge fan of pop punk so the more pop punk songs on there drag it down for me. "Deathbed" and "Faking My Own Suicide" are my two favourite RK songs and they're not a worse version of anything on Mmhmm.

Deathbed is also my favorite Relient K song. I used to love Faking My Own Suicide, but over time those lyrics have really started to make me uncomfortable, especially as I and people close to me have had experiences with self-harm and suicidal thoughts. Just an opinion obviously, but that song has not held up over time for me at all.

The lyrics never really came off as insensitive or offensive to me and they've never bothered me and I first fell in love with that song when I was very suicidal which I guess is kind of weird but yeah I still love that song a lot.

Yeah I listened too on my desk top while at work. Couldn't wait. Really enjoyed it quite a bit. Can't wait to sit down and really give it a good listen.

You gonna review it? Your review of "Forget and Not Slow Down" was a foundational review for me, which is a weird thing to say. Love to see another one.

Albums super cool. Was just a fun, positive listen, and I think everyone could use that right now. Can't wait to hear it in vinyl sequence.
