yes of course but they still have to make a "one size fits all" mix (not accounting for the where they make different masters for vinyl, so inherently there will be variation.

I can pull out of date packaging but that’s it. Bars have full authority to serve beers how they see fit, such as adding fruit to the beer that brewers don’t ask for. Like cherry wheat coming with cherries in the bottom the glass.
I understand. Yes the brewery would work to make the customer happy. But freshness isn’t even a good analogy for the discussion at hand IMO.

Honestly, it’s like Berliner Weiss as a beer style. In Germany you get the option to add a syrup to it to sweeten it up because some people find that style of beer to be too sour for them. Netflix is offering a syrup for their media, essentially, in my opinion. Do I think it’s dumb to consume it in that manner? Sure, for me. But people can enjoy it anyway they want to enjoy it.

An American analogy is like fruiting a beer like Oberon/blue moon/cherry wheat.

also bars absolutely get told how to serve their drinks, in Ireland you are not allowed to sell Guiness if you don't do it well! lol

If I don't have enough time to watch a movie, I just read the Wikipedia plot synopsis.

sometimes the plot synopsis is better than the movie

  10. And my underlying point is if I was in your shoes, I should would want to make sure the beer's served right each and every time. I care a great deal about things like that, and therefore can understand why a director or actor that's spent hours on the timing of a scene would as well.

I recommended Midsommar to a colleague and she said she watched some clips of it on YouTube and she "gets the gist of it"

    I almost fainted.

I was never motivated to get into the Handsmaid's Tale series on Hulu so I just read the book synopsis, so I'm all set.

Seems to me what you think is a "fundamental" change is rather arbitrary. Audio engineers spent plenty of time adjusting that bass and treble. Just like they spent time getting the speed right. I don't think either change is more 'fundamental' than the other. Furthermore, watching a movie on mute is also definitely a "fundamental" change to how the movie was meant to be watched. So "this fundamentally changes it" isn't even a good reason not to allow people to do it.

Its cool that you prefer to listen to music and watch movies exactly how intended by its creators. Just like its cool that you don't want to drink your beer with a straw.

But don't judge other people for how they want to watch their movies or listen to their music or drink their beer.

(also someone please yell at me if I make another post like this. Given I've literally made the same post at least a dozen times now I really should know which to just give up and realize nothing new has actually been said in the last several pages)

sometimes I listen to podcasts 0.5x speed if I wanna hear what the hosts/guest sound drunk.

  25. I'm putting on Jake's avatar for the first time. It's a little slow; think I'm gonna play it at 6x speed. The chipmunk synth really does it for me.
