This is a bad take for quite a few reasons.

 

That's pretty much the entire game. It does suck but what can you expect from an american video game company?

Imagine putting that quote in your game like 10 years ago then rewriting a war crime so it makes your country not the bad guy

Sort of. They did a trial run of it in some places to see how it goes. Went well, so now they’re rolling it out to more places and not just test markets

 

I think they're doing something that could be pretty beneficial to a lot of folks.

CoD is CoD but blatantly lying about a war crime to deflect blame away from the United States is both disgusting and historically inaccurate. Whatever happened to the "historical accuracy" that everyone is always crying over?

And, if anything, telling the truth about what happened only bolsters what the game is allegedly trying to say about modern war not being black & white and the horrors of war in general, doesn't it? Lying about it to make America look better directly contradicts everything the devs were claiming they wanted to say in the run-up to launch.

My only question that I genuinely want to know is what war is this game based of off?

 

The game isn't based off of a real war, the problem is that it's referencing events that actually happened during the first Gulf War but lying about them.
