I know...that’s kinda what I’m asking for from a single. As single I was hoping for something a little more upbeat coming off some slower material. Songs like this, for me, work better on an album where than can be a wide variety of paces. It’s fine, and I’ll probably just drop it in as a bside after their next album on a playlist.

Glad they released music. Probably just craving a certain type of MO.

I dig it. The baseline of this new tune is great. Note: I also think the Church & the Good Thief is the best RAGC record.

I'll take any of the following:

    Soft Manchester Orchestra
    Slow Manchester Orchestra
    Fast Manchester Orchestra
    Loud Manchester Orchestra
Soft, Slow, Fast, Loud in the same song Manchester Orchestra

    Motel. Money. Murder. Madness.

It’s for an Amazon exclusive series with T Bone. It has nothing to do with them, in terms of them working with Amazon, it’s them working with T Bone.

I would argue The Silence is the best example of it on the album, but maybe I’m not fully following what you are saying. I feel like the build toward the end “explodes.” Also several songs have explosive choruses and slow down in the verses (Grocery, mistake) but I guess not to the extent of Shake it out if that is your comparison point.

It think Black Mike feels a little more constrained that way.

Shake It Out starts out so in your face with such intensity, and that moment that slows it down feels like a chance to catch your breath, and builds back to a big exit, and back to in your face for one last burst. The vocals the guitars ride this perfect wave.

They have lots of songs that play around like that in their discography, or transition between songs that do that.

On Black Mike that’s toned way down to me. METN and Like a Virgin are my favourite MO records. I realize people and band members have changed. But, I would like to see them try and merge what they’ve done on Black Mile with Cope because I think those records are each lacking in what the other has.

These aren’t major complaints though. Just hopes for the band moving ahead.

    Fixed that for you.

Honestly though, people will like what they like. I’ll take LAVLAC and METN over anything else. I find The Alien dull and Black Mile didn’t have as much staying power for me. The Gold is my favourite from that album, and I know How To Speak second (including it because it’s from that era), and the two I go back for the most. Some other songs are fine too, like The Maze and The Sunshine. I prefer some of Amy’s Bad Books songs more interesting that Black Mile.

For me, these guys peaked at Simple Math. I’ve liked everything since, enough to buy to buy the record. But yeah, everything’s just been alright in my opinion. I’m gonna spin Black Mile tonight and see how I feel about it now.

You'll get louder Manchester on LP6.

You aren't going to get angsty LAVLAC MO anymore.

Those songs were written by teenage Andy and now he's in his 30s with two children. Almost all of them have kids. Their music is evolving and they've been in a period of learning a lot in music. Swiss army, black Mile, BB3, this song with T Bone, their covers, etc.

They're going to take all of this and make a great mixed record of sounds. I think I Know How To Speak was a great example of them combining their elements.

I can guarantee you'll get a few bangers on the new album though.

I never would have called ILAVLAC an angsty record. Thought it felt a little more grown up than a typical angsty record.

I don’t feel the need for this band to try and remake any albums, but I do want them to use them part of their inspiration.

    Really looking forward to LP6.

I believe it wasn't finished and they didn't like the direction it was going, and then kept working on it. Something like that.

How is Lead, SD considered constrained? Because he isn't actually yelling? That song is unsettling, sounds like a manic episode put to tape.

I met someone from South Dakota the other day. He mentioned he came from a family of miners so I asked if it's the one in Lead and he was blown away that I knew about it.
