i tend to agree, but i don't think the initial topic of the band doing a podcast with that person and possibly discussing your thoughts on it is something that NEEDS to be relegated to just the Accountability thread, after all it does involve the band, but, as per usual, it just went ablaze.

 

oh, I was being completely sarcastic and mocking the person who said that in the thread. if the band does something, good or bad, the band's thread is definitely a place to have a discussion about it.

I agree that dogpiling probably isn't necessary after someone says they "get it" and that there's a good chance the band/their publicists did not know what was going on but I also think apologizing but then being like "let's not talk about this anymore" is a major deflection and THAT'S what's keeping things going, idk

I don't post in the Jimmy Eat World thread so I don't wanna post that there but that's my 2cents

It's an important discussion and being like "no I refuse I wanna only talk about their music" is part of the problem

I listen to Lana Del Rey often but if someone's like "she's dating a cop and hates Palestine" I'm definitely gonna spend some time talking about how cops are bad and Israel is evil and she needs to do better, no reason to be like "BUT NFR"

people b, c, d, e, f & g - ::refutes the thing and advises they seek additional research::
person A - ::still says the thing and backs it up harder::
people h i j k l & m - "why are you doing this"
person A - "why are you all so mean"
