Nine is still running laps around the rest of my music library (monthly)

 

I never got into After Midnight, I think the song is kind of boring.

 

I feel this way about the entirety of Neighborhoods. I think I forced myself to like it when it first came out, because there is truly not a song on there I ever want to listen to.

 

Pfffft! I did that the day EP2 leaked! Old news.

After Midnight, Hearts All Gone and Fighting The Gravity are the only ones I return to

 

Nah Neighborhoods is good. The only songs I don't like are This Is Home and MH 4.18.2011. I even like Love Is Dangerous for the most part. The first five songs are top notch blink plus I've recently found a new appreciation for Wishing Well and Kaleidoscope after revisiting blink's discography.

Ruston Kelly covered Dammit for his "DIRT EMO EP" - Came out today and I didn't know about it until this morning but it's kinda cool. He does Saves The Day and MCR too:

For Blink-182’s “Dammit,” you slow the song way down and deconstruct it. Was there any hesitancy to do too much to this one?

No, not really. This song is a good example of, in that era whether it was pop-punk or emo or somewhere in the middle, the melodic sensibility was insane. These are like nursery rhyme-sounding songs, they are incredible. That's a huge theme on putting this compilation together. It's taking a melody that I think is really beautiful and playing the song towards that feeling of “this melody really moves me, I'm going to play this song just like that.” “Dammit” was one of the first ones where I was like, “God even the riff, it's just really pretty.”

 

Never heard of Ruston Kelly but I just listened...great cover. Love to see blink represented in other genres.

 

He's Kacey Musgraves husband too, which is cool!

Took a little while off of NINE to listen to other things that came out, but now I keep going back to it every time I hop in the car. I seriously haven't soured on any of the tracks. There's not one on there where I'm like "Eh, I don't really like this one anymore". Still no skips.

 

Mark’s verse in Darkside is the perfect cadence and compliments the instrumental so well. Like each word bouncing off of Travis’ snare. “You would leave but you need me to numb the pain”.

Also, “when the lights come up and you see I’m gone you wake up to an empty house” is a great lyric. Not that it’s super meaningful but I love the way it plays into the chorus.

 

Nice. Yeah I actually stopped using it in 2014 for some reason but I started up last month... here we go.

Blink isn't a band I really play in the fall outside of S/T and Neighborhoods, but I've been craving some Nine songs lately so I should go back to it. Hope you appreciated that 10 Years album!
