Yeah it's the dev kit they confirmed as real. I don't see why people seem to think this is a new/true design of the ps5. Dev kits have always been shown before consoles and I can't remember such back lash for this.

because dev kits are usually not designed in a specific manner.



this is the PS4 dev kit. It barely looks like a console.

 

I care deeply what the console looks like because due to the nature of my living room it is *very* visible.

maybe I'm misremembering it but our ps3 devkit at EA was white? and it was this shape but we had it stood upright? as in the VCR part was facing upwards.

I never worked on this kit per se but I remember seeing it around the studio not really knowing what it was as the machine I used looked like this:
