Over at Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Vince decided to do the DQ finish because it’s important to him, as this new era begins for WWE, to have Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair as the top champions, serving as the faces of the company.

However, Sapp reported that although one backstage source told him that Vince initially laughed off the crowd reaction, others countered that he “knew he messed up” and was taking the negative crowd reaction seriously. What’s done is done, of course, but it will be interesting to say how they attempt to smooth things over with fans going forward.

god, if only me from last Monday evening would know how fast my faith in the product would evaporate.

this was their idea of their best look. all the lights were on them, they did a massive rating on Friday. they had good press going into this week for once in their fucking lives. and what we got was Saudi build, someone who has worked three matches getting a WWE title shot, and the total bastardization of one of their biggest gimmick matches.

 

also comparisons between AEW and WWE are going to happen, nonstop, for a very long time. both companies are practically demanding that of us. if you're gonna have a bad time about it, it's your own fault.

 

I think the weirdest thing for me is the presentation of these shows.

I wonder if they just throw the belt on Bray tonight even though part of the problem is that Bray should never have been going for the title to begin with

 

belts shouldn't exist if you are just trying to protect every character. Braun and Roman are the worst examples.

 

He should come out and demolish Seth and just move on. Move on to an actual motivation that makes sense.

I thought the Fiend was going to "right" Bray's past wrongs or something like that.

 

The Fiend would have been a perfect top heel in the late 80s where there were only a handful of true cards a year and the rest were populated with squashes and character work. today though? fuck, i dont envy having to write for him. how do you handle his vague motivations 52 weeks a year? at what point do you start exposing his weak points? it's a nightmare scenario, but they did it to themselves. it looked like he was only gonna pop up every few shows for a while there which would've felt much more sustainable and authentic to the character.

 

Sooooo should I watch the Rollins match?

 

There's no real need to have him on every week. There's also no need for him to wrestle every time he's on.

 

They did not need to bring him out every week. It would have been way better to keep his appearances unregular and unpredictable. But they completly overexposed the fiend since a couple of weeks ago..

isn't it kinda weird that AEW's last video on its yt channel was uploaded the day before dynamite? Like, u'd think they would follow up on there..

 

I reckon there’s gonna be more of the stuff from YT on the actual show and Dark going forward.

 

They really really need to sort out their youtube offering. Just consolidate it all under one channel!

They also still need to work on the entrance music. There were entrances on Dynamite that sounded muted because the commentary and announcer were so high in the mix that the reaction and music were hard to hear. It's leaps and bounds better than DoN though so they're getting there
