After several listens idk if this will be my favorite TEN but I think it might be their best. Tbh it’ll probably become my favorite.

    Preach.

Beginning of the first verse might be my favorite part of the album....

...and that’s about the only good part of the song.

Seriously though, I don’t want to be mean, but idk how this song (or at least the chorus) didn’t get axed.

I don’t know if I like it but that chorus does exactly what it sets out to do IMO. Like clearly it was meant to be a catchy pop chorus and it certainly is one.

  4. I still need to listen to this. Sounds like it might be a good one to listen to while driving around on this rainy day today.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

"Ave Maria" is steadily become one of my favourite TEN songs ever, y'all did this song dirty when it came out

This record is so good. It has that underlying sober but hopeful feeling for me that I kind of seek out this time of year. Some of these songs might be the best they've written. It was all quite immediate for me personally too.

This reminds me of the last underoath album, not in sound but more in the way of, its not necessarily what I’d want/expect from a TEN record but I still enjoy it a ton.

I feel like this was the album they, or at least ace, was always working towards. Like obviously it’s pretty different instrumentally, but they’ve played with really elegant sounds before, he’s done a lot of different things vocally, and he’s written sad lyrics of course, but it’s refreshing to see him go all in on those things and just write a beautiful, raw sounding record.

This is very good. Kudos to them for finding a way to update without losing who they are and to try new things. A handful of the songs sound really underproduced though. They have no punch and feel so compressed, like they just don't fill enough sonic space. Doesn't really hurt the album too badly though, since the songs are excellent.

Due to the production quality, the poppy melodies, and the amount of sonic layering that this album has, it feels like a darker, more complex sounding sequel to Enola. So that's helping me love this so much more.

  14. As a person who’s favorite ICMAM record and *potentially* favorite Ace release in general is Enola, I 100% agree with this

I'm loving this record. I've been listening to everything The Early November ever since this came out. TMTMTP has really become a favorite, although I treat it as three individual albums and listen to each side separately. Just way too long otherwise.

Anyway, I love Lilac. Not a song I don't like on it now.

  16. Yeah this is great. Even the singles I wasn’t initially into are more enjoyable in context. Will definitely have to keep spinning this all fall/winter.

I wasn't a fan of Ave Maria when it first came out, but damn has it grown on me. That "I thought if I looked nice, then I might feel nice, and you would see me right" part of the hook is one of my favorite parts of this record.

Yea, I'm really really loving this right now. I really love how Ace handles depression in an optimistic light on this record. A lot of the lyrics seem to deal with not letting dark thoughts get the better of you.

Agreed, the music and the lyrics also are a nice juxtaposition between each other.
