I literally got full body chills when I heard No Malice.

There are a handful of stunners on here, real top tier Kanye. Some songs sounded kinda unfinished or like they didn’t really go anywhere. Also kinda hard to tell because it was soooooo loud. One song had Graduation-esque synths. One song had a singing melody that would fit right in on 808s. Lyrics are veryyyyy overtly Christian on like every song. It’s so much better than ye tho.

The whole fam was there. At one point North was rambling into the mic for like 5 minutes, it was adorable. Kanye basically said he regrets ever calling himself Yeezus. Seems like he’s in a real good place right now.

Been hearing production is kind of a mix of 808s and Yeezus, would you say that's accurate?

Never listened to Ye or KSG because of how fucked up he's been recently. I do hope he's in a good place.

808s vibes in some spots but I don’t hear much Yeezus production wise. It feels pretty different overall from anything he’s done. I’m hesitant to give much of a “review” just because everything was so loud and it didn’t feel like a proper first listen.

Follow God, On God, Selah, and the Clipse/Kenny G song were the clear highlights for me. The Kenny G sax solo is absolutely wild hahaha, I don’t think people are ready for that. That song has a super anthemic hook, Kanye restarted it after like 20 seconds because he wanted everyone to hum along, he said he made it to be played in “soccer stadiums” lmao.

My least favorite was definitely the first track, kinda felt like a mess.

Oh, one other story. At one point he started talking about how after his mom died he felt like he really stopped being himself. Someone in the crowd yelled something at him, I couldn’t tell what they said but Kanye was like “if you’re gonna yell then I’ll stop talking. This isn’t a comedy show, this is my life. I know you’re all used to me going on stage and dancing and acting crazy, but I danced and went crazy all the way to the hospital” and the entire room went silent. It was a pretty cool and real moment.

It's obviously up to you since it's a personal choice but I'd honestly really strongly recommend KSG, it was probably my favorite album of 2018. Some of his best rapping in years, incredible production and Cudi is amazing on the whole thing. There isn't any mention of politics at all if that affects your decision, it's mostly about mental health

From what I've heard this is the most clear and lucid he's been in years. I'm not personally religious at all and have a lot of issues with organized religion but if it's helped Kanye finally find peace then I'm all for it

I love the Pusha album that came out around that time. I don't really know how I managed to get myself listening to that but ignoring Ye and KSG. I think the bad word of mouth from Ye put me off.

uhhh weird haha. lots of close up shots of like moths and other shit in nature. it's very artsy, not really my thing. there was a dope rendition of lost in the world and street lights tho. and the song that played for the end credits was AMAZING and i wish it was on the album

I’m still thinking we aren’t getting this and when we finally do it’s not gonna be the tracklist people have been hearing at these parties.

Is the album just the soundtrack to the film? Or are they two seperate things?

oh definitely separate things. i don't think any of the album tracks are played during the film. there is music during the entirety of the film but it's mostly choir singing with no instrumentals.

I'm totally here for some religious/spiritual Kanye, lol. Someone gotta connect him w/ like Lecrae or something.

Also, if he's really gotten professional help & is doing much better, that's great to hear. I hope that journey includes some sincere acknowledging of how his most egregious decisions in recent years have affected others.

If he tours ever again I am very curious if he’s going to drop some songs completely like Black Skinhead, Gold Digger, etc.

I feel like he's never gonna perform a Yeezus song again.

Yeah... He hasn’t apologized and lost a ton of (his smartest) fans in the last few years. I dont think he ever will apologize btw, and definitely think some are way too forgiving and lenient now that hes seemingly ‘recovered,’ just in time for his new record to release. In fact he hasnt done anything to deserve this second/third/fourth chance that people seem willing to give him. I do believe hell make money and sell out shows, but Kanye’s cultural impact has been overshadowed by his behavior the last few album cycles IMO
