Hahaha, that is a valid argument. Missing some key songs but they sound so much better live I would say it's better than a studio track greatest hits.

Deadbolt is ok, but I can only find terrible versions of Betrayal. I like the video though, it was one of the only all band performance ones they have done which is a bummer because they rock out harder than anyone.

It's an excellent interview though with acoustic Hurricane at the beginning and Black Honey at the End. It'd be amazing if someone could get a rip of those songs at least, they sound awesome.

They didn't even release Deadbolt because they thought it sucked so much.

Once they figured out stage presence, there was no turning back. I remember a time when they stood their like statues (the DVD touches on this). All 3 are fun to watch for their own unique reasons. And to this day, they'll add little things to evolve their stage presence. Teppei does this neck pump type thing I love now. Tom DeLonge kinda does it too, though. I'm sure he copied Teppei.

Oh yeah, their AOL session version of red sky with strings is my favorite version.

I was being sarcastic. But it was mostly fan selected as well as songs that they wanted to play. So pound for pound I'd argue that it could be considered a greatest hits.

The Classic Crime did an acoustic/reworked album and it was pretty great. I really like that idea actually.

I would love a reworked Thrice greatest hits, although I wouldn't require them all to be "hits" and would look for some deep cuts.

I think we'd all be in agreement that the full band arrangement for "A Song For Milly Michaelson" would have to be on there, and personally I'd like to see them explore further what they started to do with the live version of "So Strange I Remember You" and released on If We Could Only See Us Now. I also think it'd be a great place for an expanded version of "Seneca".

Here's my quick list for an ACOUSTIC/Piano/Strings/Rearrangement BEST of Thrice (with some Water arrangements here and there)

    * Some of the heavier songs would rely on strings to make up for the heavy drums and guitars lost

    ** In NO particular sequence

*** 'Best of' means they don't have to all be "hits."

    Deadbolt *
    Beltsville
    TAITA
    Of Dust and Nations
    Red Sky
    Music Box
    Earth Will Shake *
    For Miles *
    Burn The Fleet
    The Whaler
    Open Water
A Song for Milly (more like its live arrangement)
    Daedalus
    Circles
    Wood and Wire
Beggars (Imagine a crazy string section for the outro)
    Promises
    Words in the Water
    Anthology
    Hurricane
    The Long Defeat
    Black Honey
    Stay With Me

wheeew that is a list lol. If they were going to actually do a release like this, I would vote for

    Acoustic Section:
    1. All That's Left
    2. Deadbolt
    3. Hurricane
    4. Burn the Fleet
    5. Under a Killing Moon
    6. Broken Lungs
    7. Black Honey
    8. Disarmed

    Full Band Rework Section:
    9. A Song For Milly Michaelson (Live Full Band Version)
    10. Deadbolt (Ext Outro)
    11. So Strange I Remember You (Live Version)
    12. Cold Cash, Colder Hearts (Piano bridge and Ext Outro)

I'm sure there's more they could do, but I'm drawing a blank. I didn't include anything from the apple store split with Thursday, Day Trotter Sessions or AOL sessions because those are already quality recordings.

I know this is the TBE thread but wanted to share here for visibility: Thrice - The Artist In The Ambulance Vinyl LP Hot Topic Exclusive | Hot Topic

edit: didn't know if this was commonly known. I don't own this variant and didn't know it was getting repressed (or whatever the circumstances are), my friend just sent it to me and I thought it was the HT exclusive press from a few years back...if anyone can shed some light, it would be much appreciated!

Anyone on here going to the 2nd Leg of the tour coming up? I'll be at the St Louis show. I hope they change the set a little bit but keep it majority the same as it's pretty nice. If they are keeping the same number of songs from each album I would keep the songs from Vehissu, Beggars, Major/Minor and Illusion the same but I'd like a different Fire song (Burn the Fleet or Firebreather) and I'd keep Daedalus from Air but would switch out Sky with Broken Lungs or Come All You Weary. From Artist I'd keep Silhouette and Artist but would switch Cold Cash for All That's Left because I've never heard it live and think it has so much energy.

It's a reissue. Hot Topic has released like 3-4 variants of that same record already. I have the red one from a while back. The most recent pressing before this latest one, was a green marble variant. That's probably my favorite variant released of that album. Wish I owned it.

oh cool, thanks! I totally missed the green with white splatter note, I thought this was the green marble one.

I wanted to have this variant alongside the Obscure Alternatives 2xLP variant from 2014 (maybe the same red one you're talking about?) as I slowly collect multiple variants of their discography. once I reached 4 copies for TBE (1 CD, 2x180g, 1 blue marble LP), I realized this is the only band I'd do this for

No the red one I'm talking about is a different variant. If you'll notice, the Hot Topic pressings have different artwork. Obscure Alternatives had a recent red and blue copy. But their red is different than the Hot Topic reissue (I have) that I was referring to. I can take some pictures later and upload them if you'd like? But maybe someone else can shed some light on that?

Also, To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere, does have 4 variants including the CD. 180g Black. 180g Smoke. And 180g Teal Marble (Tour Exclusive).

This is an excellent website to both keep up with your collection, and to refer to for pressing information.

I was in San Diego for the MLB All-Star Game weekend. The best part was that Mark Trumbo of the Orioles was both a participant in the HR Derby and the All-Star Game and he played "Black Honey" every time he went up to bat.

I got irrationally excited each time.
