My older brother who is 38 - was telling me how he kept hearing Blink on the radio over the weekend on the main pop station in the area. And I was like, "Oh was it Bored to Death?" and he said no, they've been playing the older hits like a ton.

So I wonder if thats coincidence orrrr

My last true NFG OG lineup show (as in, Steve still in the band) was on that tour with Alkaline. I drove out 2 hours to Aragon Ballroom in Chicago and had to work the next day so I left before Alkaline played...I regret it all the time.

So I made a setlist for the upcoming tour. It's what I think could be realistic enough buuuut with a lot of fantasy added. If it was something like this, I'm sure most people would be happy.

Sub out Go with Stockholm or Not Now, and Los Angeles for Sober and we have a deal

Yeah I'd prefer Stockholm but I remember they played Go last year so I thought it'd be more realistic

Oh ok, I didn't think Travis did the flying drum solo on the TOYPAJ tour, just the Pop Tour. Maybe he just didn't do it at the show I went too.

Yeah that was a good tour. I saw them at a radio festival with NFG, Sum 41, Unwritten Law, Stroke 9 and Good Charlotte were some of the bands I remember being there.

I edited because Also would prefer sober to Los Angeles, and I feel it's more likely to get played live

I remember the first time I listened to "Bored to Death", I genuinely thought Mark sang the whole song haha. I think you pretty much nailed it when you said Matt's there to hit notes Mark can't though. Mark just can't carry songs on his own anymore during live performances and that's reflected by the fact we have dual vocals on every song on California. I'm pretty sure it's the first blink album where that's the case. I mean have you heard them perform "Bored to Death" live? Mark sounds bad enough as it is, imagine if he had to sing the whole thing on his own, it'd be even worse...

Edit: I'd just like to clarify that I think Mark sounds great on the record, not so much live

Yeah, honestly I think both of them have sounded pretty bad in the videos that I have seen.

If I could ask Mark and Travis one question it would have definitely been "why Matt Skiba?" I mean I know their canned response to that question that they have been giving in interviews, but I would be interested to hear what they though he was going to bring to the table.

I have no idea how someone can't distinguish between Matt and Mark....but my gf had that trouble on BtD(not the other songs though) so Idk. Mark live must have changed since 11', I felt he nailed it live at the Atlanta show then

Apparently they're playing a "few" new songs from the album on The Late Show tonight.

I can tell you where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard "Bored To Death" - and I don't know if it was because I was so damn excited, just in lala land or what - but I too thought Mark sang the entire song. And I've been listening to Blink for 17 years! I agree with absolutely everything you said though - Mark needs help to carry the songs over live. Don't get me wrong, he sounds great on the record but Matt is there to help pick up the slack live just like you said.

But BTD is the ONLY song this is like...is it a coincidence that this was the first single? So that the people who aren't huge Blink fans wouldn't be able to tell the difference? Kind of weird how well they blend on this track and then Matt sticks out like a sore thumb (in the best way possible) on the rest of the record.

Yeah I never had a problem since I've listened to both guys for 15+ years religiously but I can understand how the production makes it difficult to differentiate on BTD. At least the rest of the record isn't like that. I know they said the label picked that song, probably was conscious to ease people into the change.

Hot Take: She's Out of Her Mind is the catchiest single since All The Small Things.

(Pending this is the next single)

I mean, you could check and see if it actually cracked the Billboard 200 when that releases for the week. There always seem to be some odd lingering albums on the back end of that list. I'm looking at it now, and The Eminem Show is #105. lol what? There are actually four Eminem albums in the bottom 100 of that list. Panic's Too Weird album is number 180 even. I would think that if Neighborhoods or any of their older albums get any sort of a boost, it should hover in the fringes of that list if Panic's 2013 album is on there.

  22. Would be funny to see Enema or TOYPAJ hit the 190's or something haha

I could see that. Those are definitely summer albums. I actually just checked but they still haven't updated the 200. I hope they get some new fans that didn't grow up with a fun blink lol.

I spoke too soon. Blink's Greatest Hits album was #163 last week. It didn't even chart the week before that.

I was going to predict that their GH album would chart because of the tour, and then I saw it...
