Depending on the level of intimacy, going for a drive or walk/hanging at a book store, then taking a nap is a good date to me. It combines date stuff and laziness.

my go-to was always a movie but thats p much 2 hours without talking so tbh I don't know if its really any better

 

The worst date of my life took me to the movies (1st date) and tried to get fresh with me like 20 minutes into the movie.

 

I had a date with no specified plans. We ended up climbing underneath a bridge, sitting near the water, and her, essentially, over-sharing on various aspects of her life, which would have been fine, if she didn't trail off into silence for five minutes at a time. This is all irrelevant to the current conversation.

my best first date was sitting at the lakefront watching Jupiter (or maybe a different planet) come into view for like the first time in a dozen years or so with a bottle of wine. that was a lot of fun.

Someone switched up the movie formula on me on one occassion. It was a second date and we were going to watch a movie at their place. They said the movie was one of their favorites. Turns out, it was sadomasochistic erotica. There was a lot of silence during and after the film.

 

Last time I saw someone he had me over to watch a movie and I chose Scream and the whole time I was irritated cause I couldn't remember Neve Campbell's name so I named like every cast member hoping it'd spark something. He thought it was weird I knew so many actors names and then he wanted to make out but I really like Scream and wanted to watch it + it still bothered me I couldn't remember Neve's name

Yeah I'd prefer now for a coffee date cause I like coffee but idk it feels so cliche first date that I'm not sure how organic conversation flows there.
