Cost of living is similar to philly.

 

Yeah Portland (OR) is beautiful but I wouldn’t ever live there it’s stupid expensive

 

Rental market and taxes are worse. I'd do Denver over Portland. I'd go Olympia, WA over both though.

 

Actually just looked it up and Portland is 22% more expensive lol

I'll live in Washington state close to the city

 

There’s no sales tax in PDX so everything is so stupidly expensive lol

Vancouver WA is nice. That's where my office is. Minutes from Portland.

 

@CarpetElf is moving to Boise to become a potato farmer, it's not too far off

 

The only thing I know about southern wa is it has a lot of religious people and it had a major measles outbreak. I'm sure there are nice things out there too.

 

I think Portland is only like an hour or two away from where the rajneesh colony was from wild wild country

 

The only thing that would lessen traffic is better public transportation

 

Yea, it's not that far southeast of Portland. It's such a tiny place, it's wild to think that happened there.

 

Olympia is 90 minutes from Portland and Seattle and its somehow cheap af compartiavely.

 

Yea, I obviously agree with that but I feel like until that happens it could make things slightly more bearable

 

Portland is just very white and all the locals complain but almost never about the things they should be complaining about.

 

It seems cool, cooler if Collins wins but you gotta drive and ehhh

 

I feel like making drivers pay a monthly fee would just be another tax on the people that can't afford it

 

Well, they would be getting taxed one way or the other but yea, it would be a lot more lol ez pass just sucks because you still have to go through tolls regardless

 

Companies should allow more people to work from home

 

I love driving for that. Just not around people

A lot of companies offer public transportation reimbursement but nothing for people who drive.
