    Lets Go. Prestigious

Bucs should have the worst D in the league

  2. I’m not saying they’re a playoff contender. They’ll be improved though.

The Bucs have arguably the worst roster in the league, no ol, other than jpp no dl, no dbs, no qb, no rb. No cap space, and they just gave their gm who's created the situation an extension.

    They need a 10yr rebuild.

It's not crazy to think the Bucs will be better. Coaching can make a massive difference.

With that said I still think they pick in the top 5.

In my playoff bracket, I have the Bucs going 4-12

  8. The defense will struggle for sure but they'll put up points with Arians there IF Winston is improved. I know that's a big if though.

Winston is gonna get sacked more than luck did 3yrs ago and I don't feel bad about that at all.

K...expounding now that I'm at work.

I don't think the modern NFL is kind to teams that are run-focused. And to me, there is a difference between being balanced/taking what is given to you, versus gearing your entire offense around the Running Back. You've said yourself the line isn't good at pass blocking but is a run-blocking line. I think if you go to any of the top coaches and say "boom! try and stop our run game" with Dak at QB, they'll say gladly. I know I'm coming from a place of privilege with Bill as my team's coach, but I do not think he'd bat an eye at that challenge.

I think the Cowboys roster is good, and that's the problem. They're gonna be my worst nightmare, good, but not good enough. I personally have no interest in the ceiling of my team being "we'll get into the playoffs and maybe steal a game" and that's where I see the Cowboys. I think once you get to the playoffs with the elite teams/defenses Dak will be exposed. That's just where i'm at, I know you disagree, but you asked me to expand.

Also, and I can't stress this enough. I have never disagreed with anything like I disagree with @Swoos when he says Rings aren't the only way to evaluate the success of a team. Rings are all that matter. Think the 90's Braves look back fondly at the decade of division titles? Think the Bills are like "heck yeah we ALMOST won a Super Bowl four years in a row, we rule!" Rings is the name of the game, and I don't think a zeke-centered offensive attack with Dak behind center is enough to get it done. I just don't. Maybe I'm wrong, certainly a possibility.

But most of the other teams they have to play against this season can put up points too. They should be in a ton of shootouts this year. In that case, give me the team with a better pass rush and/or better coverage over them. Bucs just have so few playmakers on defense that I think they’ll come up short frequently even if they put up 25-30+ points/game

    Succop stinks

  14. I'm not going to disagree but what I was trying to say was, not winning the SB doesn't make the season a failure. Like, if the Cowboys make the playoffs every year with this core but come up short of a ring I don't think you can say they're failures. Disappointed? Sure. Failures? No. (I know you weren't necessarily calling them failures).

    The rivalry is back on

Bruce Arians won 8 games with that Cardinals team. Don’t count him out

I also think we're discounting 2 things when it comes to the Cowboys:
    1. We underrated the shit out of Amari Cooper.
    2. Michael Gallup is a perfect fit for that team and will likely take a big leap.

I really don't know how good Dak Prescott needs to be to get them the ball, but I do think this isn't like LSU QB purgatory for the Cowboys in terms of roster construction. I think the gap between Prescott and Cooper/Gallup in terms of roster construction is MUCH smaller than the gap between like...Mettenberger and OBJ/Landry.

I would though lol. The Patriots had a perfect season, 16-0 and to me, that season is the biggest failure in sports. The goal is the ring. Now of-course in a vacuum you don't need a ring to be a success. If the Buccaneers surprise everyone going 12-4 making the playoffs, I'd consider that a successful season. But sustained playoff runs year-in-year-out with no rings to show for it is my absolute worst nightmare. I'd rather suck and get good picks and take another stab at the thing.

  18. Please don't take this personal, but Boston sports fans probably have a different perspective on this topic haha

Idk where I stand I'd just like to watch my team and feel like they showed up to play football, I'll formulate anything further once that happens

  22. Are the Saints failures? They lost on a miracle touchdown on the final play and then lost on an awful call.

I mean, yeah, probably because i've been gifted with great teams to root for since 2001. (I wasn't alive for any of the Celtics glory days)

But, idk, I'm hardpressed to think fans in most markets really relish in being okay. I know my Panthers fan friend still hates John Kasay 16 years later. I know my Braves fan friend still gets roasted by Yankees fans all the time.
