So who's getting Patrick Peterson at the deadline?

 

This is a great call.

Get to travel a bit, see different teams and styles yet only have to focus on one or two positions the whole time. And if you’re scouting college, depending on the position, it’s usually an obvious top 5-10 and then the rest is just a mash up so no one can really get mad. This would be good.

Also, I take back my dislike of the Brissett deal. That deal is damn near nothing compared to every starters money. And I say that even thinking Goff is pretty good and that he'll pretty consistently be a top 10 guy stats wise.

 

Being a scout is a huge pain in the ass, the whole time you're hoping that one day you become a gm and end up hated anyway.

Yea but have you seen those docs about scouting life? These dudes are constantly on the road in bumfuck nowhere and they hardly get to see their families. Being a gm seems way more comfy.

I’ve never understood why anyone in a coaching role for any sport has a family. I remember that Joe Gibbs “Football Life” episode where he shows his cot in his office and his wife talks about seeing him once a week at most for years on end. And that’s basically every coach ever.

Why bother getting married and having kids if you’re never gonna see them. Just bank all that money for when you retire / inevitably get fired. And if your the spouse - why the hell did you agree to marry someone that was probably already gone all the time anyway? (Since obviously no one wakes up and becomes a HC from scratch with no football background, they all start as coordinators or at least Sean McVay pool boys or whatever)
