No one is saying it will fix the other problems with the offense directly.

We’re more so saying that’s an INDIRECT result because a defense that’s stretched thin and has to account for both is less likely to have the upper hand. Adding a good RB forces the defense to both be more disciplined in gap assignments (which discourages blitzes) and also be more aggressive at the LOS (opening downfield passing lanes).

Does Melvin make Aaron a better QB or McCarthy a better coach? No, but the attention he commands from a defense makes their jobs easier.

It's silly to debate cause the packers will never do anything like this. They have the worst rb depth in the league, at least find a capable backup.

Rodgers numbers. $33.5M per year mostly guaranteed.

It makes sense given how much the market has inflated since the Rodgers extension

And that's a fair argument to make, but I believe Aaron Jones has all the capability to make defenses need to focus some of their attention on him too. It would just make no sense for the Packers to make a trade for Gordon. In fact, it wouldn't make sense for most teams to do it. It's a poor allocation of resources.

For the record, I believe Gordon is a very good RB. I am not disputing that. I am also not disputing that he would help any offense. When you get a talent like him on an offense, he helps, no matter how much or how little. However, I am saying that I believe he would not help "tremendously" and that he would not be a "solution" to that offense/team. With the limited amount of years Rodgers has left to play (although who knows, really), allocating draft capital and a hefty amount of cap for a RB who has been hanged up a lot in his career at this point and is already in his mid-20s would be poor decision making when that team has needs all over the defense and some areas on offense. Is one of those areas at RB? Maybe. I think the team would be much smarter to ride out with Aaron Jones as their lead RB and see what he can do in year three before dolling out draft picks and a huge salary to another RB.

This doesn’t mean we can’t have an opinion lol. Saying that I defended Bortles and he was trash is a better argument than that

I'm really glad the Eagles got the deal with Wentz taken care of before Goff and Dak

I wish Dak signed earlier than both those guys but we’ve been doing great team-friendly contracts for a while now, so I’m not worried.

  23. I hate discussing QBs as well. The next guy up to get paid gets more than the last guy. But everyone is always so shocked.
