I love Dez but he’s talking out of his ass. We paid him a shit ton when he was still elite. The only reason we eventually cut him was because his injuries caught up with him and it wasn’t worth it anymore. Then he turned down a big offer from the Ravens. He should have signed that one.

 

He’s right, though. Zeke is trying to avoid getting Le’veon’d. Racking up the carries, and then getting tagged until he’s a shell of his former self. He’s looking after himself and his pockets, because the Cowboys won’t. That’s the game

 

I guess but Zeke is already a top ten paid RB and has two years remaining on his contract, so I don’t feel bad for him. Especially with him being an asshole off the field.

 

He’s getting paid like a top 10 running back when he’s really a top 1 or top 2 running back. And in 3-4 years, he won’t be that anymore.

No, we have plenty of cap space (2nd overall after this season if I remember correctly), it’s just that we don’t want to beat Gurley’s contract for Zeke, especially a year early. And I imagine especially since Zeke off the field is a nightmare.

 

What veteran is even out there though?

 

Frederick/Smith are signed through 2023 and Martin is signed through 2024.

 

Glad to see they’re moving into the 21st century facilities wise

 

Sure, I get it from his perspective but from a smart team-building perspective, I hope we don’t set the market on Zeke.
