Me and my dad were horribly disappointed with Alan Wake. We bought the collector’s edition box set, the one that’s like a signed book from Alan, and my god it was just such a tedious, repetitive game for us. The combat was boring within an instant. Felt like every enemy you just shine a light at and then shoot in the exact same way.

 

Somebody wake me up when Cyberpunk 2077 comes out...

 

Honestly watched the gameplay of Cyberpunk and thought it looked meh. Mirror’s edge in a Half-Life setting. The blood and kill animations looked PS3 era level.

I echo this sentiment. I’ve seen nothing thus far that’s wowed me from it.

 

Gonna be starting my FFXIV journey today and hopefully that'll keep me busy enough until the CoD beta comes out. I really liked the alpha but did get bored by the end of Saturday.

 

I was miffed cos I justttt missed the alpha by an hour. But looking at the beta schedules, good Lord did they favour PS4. Sony get far more time with it on both beta weekends. Suits me down to the ground but did make me wince seeing it.

 

I'm surprised they didn't extend it for another day or so but I guess that's because they opened it up a day earlier haha. Yeah, that exclusivity deal is bonkers! I think PS4 pre-orders get 13 days total for the beta next month which is insane. I've pre-ordered it so I'm definitely gonna be playing it lots over those two weeks.

 

I’d love to preorder but I just can’t. Still...even without the extra two days, there’s plenty of time for PS4 folk. Lucky!

 

Pre-order from GAME, I've done that past couple of years and cancel after beta ends, they don't charge you until a week before the game comes out!

 

That’s scandalous...I totally would, but I’m in Japan so everything I do has to be from the bloody PS store. Games on launch there are disgusting prices and are charged immediately :(

 

Ah yeah that would make it much harder to do and that's the way pre-orders should work! If you don't like the beta, you should be given the chance to cancel. Idk how it works for Americans right enough but Game have got it right over here at least

Thing with Game is usually they’re hella expensive. But they have collectors editions, usually send preorders a day or two early and they honour trade-in price comparisons from CeX.

 

Annoyingly with the UK, if you preorder stuff on the PS store you can’t get early preorder items until release. Say, like a theme, avatar or whatever - it’s because we can get a refund at any point until the release, so they don’t allow us to grab the free goodies and then cancel the order.

 

Yeah true, I don't go there often because CeX is usually much cheaper, I'll only go Game if CeX doesn't have a game I want.

 

I’m pathetic and can’t get second-hand games due to fear of the hygiene of the person prior. It’s an arrogance thing. I like the new smell haha. Also if I break it then I know it’s my fault, rather than buy a game secondhand that doesn’t work because some dickhead prior scratched the disc or something.

 

I forgot to mention it but I got a code when I pre-ordered MW for a Captain Price skin in Blackout, I don't even play Black Ops 4!

 

Believe it or not, I still have a local independent shop. So I try and go there as often as possible

Does anyone anymore? I paid 15 pounds for it and game shared with my friend. We played the BR for a bit...then Apex came out and shat on it. And now people are up in arms at Apex for MTX stuff. How it all changes.

I’ll never return to Fortnite. I tried briefly the other day after not being on since like...October 2017 (I think season 4). Suffice to say I was furious within one minute at how people just build Fort Knox the second you pop one bullet at them. Every. Fight. Is. So. Drawn. Out.
