Almost like changing the party from within is probably easier than from without

  4. I wouldn’t mind this race turning into a case study of what’s more effective in a primary. I know which one I’d try if I was running, but I’d be fine seeing this test if it meant no more Joe.

  5. P nervous about Biden walking away with the primary after getting like 4% more votes that Bernie and Warren

Yeah...like I said I think Liz learned all the right lessons from the Republicans strategy the last decade. Schmooze the party elites so they feel more comfortable, lie about how far to the left (or right in the Republicans case) her proposals actually are, etc.
Mitch just straight up lying about how ridiculously partisan his policies and strategies have been for the last decade has been so effective.

Def a possibility...also possible his lead grows when some of the other smaller candidates drop out :-/

Doesn't he need to get 50% of the delegates? Otherwise it goes to a brokered convention. And I feel like as long as Biden, Warren and Sanders all over 20% of the delegates going into a brokered convention, Warren walks away as the compromise nominee.

And if that's the case, hopefully it comes with Bernie getting like Senate Finance chair or something

For perspective, I thought this was interesting, here's the total government spending over 10 years and goals of other candidates climate plans. Beto and Biden rely on the private sector to do a lot of spending.
    Bernie: $16 trillion, 100% renewable by 2030 and net-zero by 2050
    Gillibrand: $10 trillion, net-zero by 2050
    Warren: $2 trillion, net-zero by 2050
    Biden: $1.7 trillion, net-zero by 2050
    Beto: $1.5 trillion, net-zero by 2050

None of the other plans put any money toward the bogus geoengineering techniques like Yang though so there's a red flag, and Yang's plan also includes nuclear (but the investments and research into nuclear fusion is actually a good idea imo).

He definitely took the criticism that he isn't strong on climate into consideration and put out this decent and extensive plan

  11. Ellie Pell Wins Green Lakes Endurance Run 50K - Female Ultrarunners
“She’s a hell of a runner,” race director Tim Hardy told Runner’s World. “Ellie was in third behind two guys for most of the race, and I wasn’t trying to pick favorites, but I was rooting for her. On the fourth lap, I told her that she was just 30 seconds from first place. I said, ‘You can run those guys down.’”

Unfortunately, while there was an award made for the first place female, there was no award prepared for the first place male. Instead, there was only a trophy for the overall winner, which was predicted to be a man.

Yeah, Bernie could definitely get something good out of it. But probably would mean we get a centrist/establishment backed VP. But that wouldn't be the complete end of the world.

Real question is, what is the path for Bernie or Warren that doesn't go through a brokered convention? Getting 50% of the delegates is gonna be hard for anyone :-/

The only scenario I would see is if either Bernie or Warren drop out and endorse the other before the primaries to combine bases, and something big happens that really tanks Biden in the polls

  14. Win early states, or come in toward the top, show electability, win later states. Biden, given current polling, is only about a 50% winner vs the field right now in this race. Lots can still change.

I love Biden losing momentum, but Bernie/Warren need to actually build a lead and keep him out of the conversation. If they're the top two going into next year I'll feel good no matter what happens. If they decide to run together I'll be ecstatic.

We get plenty of bad Joe Biden stuff in here but gotta throw a good one out there. This was pretty good.
