At first glance I thought that said Woody Allen and had an audible "yikes!"

 

Can’t wait for Phoebe! Murphy will be exciting too. I mostly hope for better writing.

If I remember correctly, the last time Woody hosted, it was considered one of the better ones of that season (tho that might be because Kendrick was performing)

 

Really excited for Eddie but all of those are solid!

 

Does that mean there are only five episodes between Sept. 28 and Dec. 21? Or are they just holding off on announcing the other episodes?

 

Wow that’s a lineup. So stoked for Phoebe and David Harbour.

 

They probably don’t have other ones booked yet.

 

The gap between 11/2 and 12/21 is too large for there to be no episodes then. I’d wager there will be at least one, if not two, in between them.

 

Honestly insane that Eddie Murphy is hosting. Will be curious to see if it actually happens haha

 

For the past several years, they'd just announce a 2 or 3 episode run at a time...which is why I figured I'd ask because they announce a 5 episode run in a 3-month span. Surprised they just didn't announce the first three and then go from there as they wait to book more.

 

My guess is they wanted to get people hyped that Eddie Murphy is returning right away. That episode will be the Christmas episode/mid-season finale, also, so it's always a big deal for them to get somebody big for it.

 

Probably even more insane that he has something he can use SNL to promote

 

Another SNL fan on Twitter theorized they were announcing it early to make sure he couldn't back out.
