Saw this band for the first time as third support to Muse at a stadium gig in London back in May 2013. Honestly thought they were pretty shit.

Heard The City in some version of FIFA, liked it and went to listen to their first album. Thought it was okay but not really worth listening to again.

Read all the positive stuff on this album online and from people whose music taste aligns with mine so begrudgingly gave it a go. Holy shit this album is incredible, basically every song is memorable and it doesn't feel too long and works really well as a complete album start to finish. It's probably been said to death here and I may get flamed for it or whatever lol but the sort of demographic this band attracts is completely unrepresentative of the sort of stuff they're putting out, and as much as I can berate friends who have written this album/band off without listening to it despite how much I praise it, I probably would have done the same three years ago.

 

Still the best album this year by a long shot.

Yeah, it's still easily my favorite, though to be fair, I've been slow with new music. Anyways, I can't think of anything off the top of my head that can dethrone it at this point.

 

The only thing that might do it for me is Yellowcard.

These guys just do it for me. The videos for this album cycle have probably been my favourite from any band since MCR broke up.

I don't think there's EVER been another band's videos I've been as interested in as The 1975's.

 

I've never seen a 1975 video but then I haven't watched a music video in years

 

Highly recommend Change of Heart.
