Honestly, that comic is the perfect example of how you can paint any narrative you want as long as you cherry pick your facts.

 

The things they would have said about other Tarantino films in our current Internet culture would have been wild.

 

You start with the conclusion you want, and then you work backwards.

 

I can't picture him as a dad at all , like imagine Tarantino listening to Baby Shark

 

The baby is gonna be raised on surf rock, 70s R&B, and Ennio Morricon scores

 

Imagine turning 20 and your dad is 76 wow

 

It would be pretty funny if the kid didn't really like movies that much

 

this felt about 10% too long but it was definitely enjoyable
Leo's performance was the highlight for me

When I was 20, my dad turned 71. The terrible part is that he passed away at 79, I was probably the first of my friends to lose a parent. Also, I'm still single so he never got to meet my spouse or kids.

So hopefully Tarantino stays healthy so he can be there for his kid.

 

I’m a big Tarantino fan and honestly this is the most disappointed I’ve been in a film in a long time. I was so hyped for it but I didn’t vibe with it at all - I mean, I know he’s not a narrative-driven director at all, but the story didn’t hang together in any way for me, which would have been fine if the set pieces were interesting and memorable and with the exception of Rick’s time on the Lancer set and Cliff’s time at the ranch, the rest of the film was entirely forgettable for me. I actually fell asleep three times, including during the climax which is unheard of for a Tarantino film. The shallow caricatures of old Hollywood stars really did nothing for me - maybe they would have been better with a bit more time to let some of them flesh out and ‘breathe’ but difficult in an already bloated runtime. Probably most disappointing is that visually there were no shots or scenes that really jumped out and grabbed me, mostly because the lighting was so dark, particularly during the final act, that I couldn’t even make out what was happening in times. It was so bad that I’m starting to question whether there was something with the screen in my theatre, and such a let down when you compare it to what QT is capable of. Ultimately, I found this one of the least entertaining and interesting of his films to date, and I’m sitting here wondering what the hell i missed that everyone else loved.
