Nah, it scans, it just comes up with a message that says it can’t be purchased till the release date. At least that’s what I’ve heard from others.

I’m sure it’d catch on the sensors

 

It seems pointless to me though, and just asking for a mistake to happen. Why not just leave an empty CD case out for people to look at rather than the actual product?

 

My wife said this happened with another release and when the barcode wouldn't scan the cashier just manually entered in the price as general merchandise and sold it anyways. She didn't lose her job or anything soooo.....hahaha

I went to target, but mine didn’t even have a display. The Swifties have been raising the alarm on twitter all day because they think it’s a violation that the tracklist “leaked”

 

The same tracklist she posted...

 

They’re blaming target for making her post “early” like it’s not utterly bizarre to keep an album tracklist under wraps till a week before the album comes out.

 

Lol yeah I also saw someone on Twitter claim that this album roll out is a disaster because now that she’s in a relationship she stopped caring.

 

The album rollout is a disaster because she refuses to change up her promo strategies and no one on earth can hold public interest for a 4 month rollout anymore. There’s just too much happening in the world and everything from a week ago feels like a year. It’s insane that ME! came out in April.

She’ll do her million first week due to Swifties and the 4 different deluxe editions, but I bet there’s a quick drop. I hope she changes it up next album- she really has the power the shake up the industry if she wanted to.

I hope Me and YNTCD not reaching number 1 humbles her but probably not

 

One of the more interesting things to me is how much this has become a thing fans talk about these days. From Taylor to Blink. Ten years ago me and like four people were the only ones talking about and debating different release strategies.

I don't know about the rollout, but these last two songs are absolutely PHENOMENAL.

The main temperature on the T. Swift fans and people I follow, plus the other forums I read, is confusion. Maybe “disaster” is a bit overblown but I feel like she’s been re-pivoting every month and a 4 month rollout is exhausting in 2019.

 

I wouldn’t call it a disaster but it is a very long rollout, which, like with blink, doesn’t keep my attention all that much now that I’m older/in the age of streaming. Like, knowing that the album is still a ways a way I haven’t listened to Archer or Me yet because I’ll just get to them with the album. I did listen to Lover on a whim. It’s really good. I am excited for the album.
